Not sure if it is the same problem as you mollyscraps, but I was uploading mine in the wrong spot. I was uploading to the profile pic link, but there is another link for changing your avatar a bit further down in the user CP. Just thought I'd share because I was baffled for a bit since mine wasn't showing up in my avi either!
