I've seen books done both ways - with the facing pages matching, and others where they're totally different.
I think that the main point is that the memories are captured and can be looked at.
Coming from a paper background myself (Creative Memories), I was paralyzed trying to figure this out. I started getting a lot more pages done when I found that I had the freedom from that mindset and can work on whatever I want, whenever I want!
