Gallery image size?

If this is an inappropriate post, let me know and I'll delete.

I have a page I want to upload, and I resized it, scaled down the resolution to 72 and thought I was good to go, but it's over 150k so I can't post it.

I'm using Photoshop Elements 6.0 How do I fix it without losing image quality?

Make sure you've flattened your image, resize it to 600x600 and use the save for web feature that I believe PSE has on it.
