No Cast!
Well, I went to see the Dr at 3:30 today. Had to have my neighbor's hubby drive me... so I gritted my teeth through hobbling to the car when in actuality, I should have had help. By the time I got into the clinic to check in, I was crying and couldn't take another step. I asked for some crutches, but they brought a WHEEL CHAIR! I felt SO stupid. We knew half the people in there. UGH! Anyway, they did Xrays and the preliminary diagnosis is, no fracture but a very bad sprain and possible torn tendins. They'll call me tomorrow after the Radiologist has looked at the films. Until then, I'm in a splint and on crutches & drugs. The pain just kept getting worse all day and is still pretty aweful, but it helps not to have to put any weight on it. I'm almost wishing it was a fracture because aparantly they heal faster.
What a time to be layed up. UGH! Thanks everyone for the ((hugs)) and positive vibes!

Yah sprains are actually worse than breaks.
 Hope you feel better soon hon.. did they give you some drugs???

Mom went thru this the week before my little sister had surgery...it sucks and always happens at the worst posible times! I hope it heals fast for you. I damaged mine pretty good and I still can't wear tennis shoes without my foot aching.

Aww, sweetie. I'm happy you were able to be seen and that it's not fractured, but boo for a severs sprain. I know those are so painful. Hope you get lots of TLC and that it heals quickly!! ((hugs))

Awe Laura, it always happens at the worst times. Keep off of it and have it propped up as often as you can. I hope that it's a sprain and nothing more than that. Mine was broken and from what I've heard,too, is that a bad sprain is worse.
Take care of yourself. Hopefully your family will help take care of you and some small chores around the house.

((HUGS))) what a stinky time for it to happen though! staying off it will help it heal quicker though.
