Default I must be extra tasty or something!

Because we have lots of mosquitos here and they ONLY bite me in this house! I have like five mosquito bites right now... my hubby? ZERO. My baby? ZERO! Obviously, I'd much rather they feast on me than my baby, but why am I the only one they like to feast upon? lol!

Can't stop itching.... gaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

Wanna know the truth about mosquito bites? Its not that they're biting you and not your DH and DD. Mosquito bites are actually an allergic reaction. Some people don't react at all (those that seem to *never* get bit) and some react severely (those like you and I that seem to be *loved* by those little bloodsuckers). So, I don't know if thats any consolation to you or not. But there ya go. If you put a dab of tea tree oil (melaleuca oil) on the bite, it will take the itch right out of it.

seasoning salt also works to make the itching stop. You make a paste with a little water and it works great. (I live in Florida and we have tons of mosquitos here especially near my house because our property is bordered by a huge drainage canal)

Another thing to consider I have heard they are attracted by perfumes so if you use perfumed soap or lotion that could be why they are biting you and not hubby and baby

Really? I know some people react more to them, but I didn't know that some people just don't react at all! Crazy! Yeah, my bites get bad... sometimes they turn purple and almost look like a bruise.

Its not very common for people to have NO reaction, but it happens. Its frustrating for us "tasty" ones. I get bit all the time. So does my hubby. But neither of our boys seems to get many bites.

OK, this might sound freaky, but DH swears by it.

He was stationed in Panama guarding the Canal Zone for 3 years and was told that if he drank a teaspoon of vinegar, the mosquitoes would leave him alone. After he started, he says he didn't get bitten again.

I couldn't stand the thought of drinking vinegar, so he suggested I try eating a pickle a day, and no joke, I've not been bitten since I started that regime.

This is a cool thing-It reminded me of the onions in Holes-how they bad lizards leave Zero and Stanley alone after they had been away and only ate onions. Random I know, but it made me think of that.

That's how it is with us, too. We can all go outside in the evening, and I'm the one covered in mosquitoes, and the boys have none. Aiden might get a few, but for the most part, it's me

Awww, that sucks! I felt horrible for poor Mason the last few years...the chemo he had in his system made the mosquitos and dust flies LOOOVE him. Whenever he'd go outside, he'd come back inside with huge welts from the bites, all over his body...and they wouldn't touch any of the rest of us. Thankfully this year the bugs aren't very bad and that stuff is all out of his system, so I'm not sure he's gotten bit at all this summer.

I get the big swollen red welts- super attractive. This weekend the kids and I were at my parents house (they live in the woods w/ a creek back behind their property)... so my legs look like I'm a smallpox patient. Argh!

Oh honey it was so weird, we went up to a really wooded area for a family reunion yesterday and holy crap!! There were SO many mosquitos and they are just freakin VICIOUS! They bit the crap out of my husband, he even had a bite inside his ear! I got lucky and didnt get it to bad but I mean even the yard guard wasnt keeping them away from our little cabin! I hope they heal up and you get some relief soon!

Well, my daughter gets bitten a lot by all sorts of bugs -- they definitely seek her out because I'll have maybe 1 bite and she'll have tons of them! Hope you heal up fast!

you sure they are mosquito bites? Deer flies/yellow flies tend to bite the lower extremities and they can cause some seriously painful bites. I dont know if you have them where you live or not but they are some nasty little buggers. When we go out I have to be really careful because I am allergic to them.

Okay, I now have 21 bites on my ankles and feet!
I was planting some flowers yesterday and I had my pants rolled up and flip flops on... so I'm pretty sure they are 'squitoes.... darn buggers.

It's usually me that's fortuate, and my hubby and boys that are eaten alive! My oldest even wound up in the hospital and the doctor's said that it was viral meningitis caused by a mosquito bite. He was in the hospital for 4 days - it was so sad.

So yeah, I encourage everyone I know to use spray. And now we will be trying pickles!

I'm always the one to get bit up too and it seems that NOBODY else is bothered by them. I hate that!!! They all make fun of me too!
