Welcome to the Sweet Shoppe!

What helped me in the beginning was tutorials, esp ones w/step-by-step instructions and screen shots. You can always google 'digital scrapping tutorials' or 'photoshop tutorials' (depending on your program) to find some. I have no experience w/scrapbook max. But most other image editing software have free trials so that you can play around and see if it's for you before committing w/the big bucks.

Hi Nikita!
I started in digital scrapbooking about a year ago. I started using Photoshop Elements 4.0 and that is a really really good program to digiscrap with. Most scrappers would be very happy with that program and I'd really recommend it. It's great that you found The Sweet Shoppe because all the products here are extremely high quality and wonderful to scrap with. It's good to see you and I hope you'll let us know when you've put a layout in the gallery... I'd love to go admire it!

Hi Nikita, Im also in the UK. Welcome to the Sweet Shoppe! I am also a Photoshop Elements 4 users, and i really love it. You can get a free trial at Adobe's website, and probably buy the program off ebay for only a few quid. I have been digital Scrapbooking for a little over a year, but i also do traditional projects and hybrid projects.

The Sweet Shoppe is a great place to start to build your digital arsenal, all very good quality stuff. Good luck on your Digital Journey! If you need anything, just ask!

Hi Nikita!

I'm new here too, but have been using Photoshop Elements 5.0 for almost a year. I really like it. Like others have said, you can download a fully-functional free trial verson from adobe.com, so you can try it out and see whether you like it or not.

I started our designing online graphics and got into digital scrapbooking after putting together a mother's day scrapbook for my Mom. It's addictive!

Have fun!

Hey Nikita! Thanks for dropping in

When I started out digiscrapping, I was using a really cheap program that I bought at the local Officeworks, just so I could have a go... I'd agree with the other ladies though - try Photoshop Elements to start with, as you'll find it has a lot more functionality that you'll want, and is pretty reasonably priced too... I also recommend using the trial version first, and playing around, as it can seem a little overwhelming at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's a breeze! There are also a lot of digiscrapping tutorials out there, so try googling and see what you find!

Sorry for the long post - good luck!

Hi girl! I'm new too (a little over a month now). When I decided to try out digi-scrapping, pretty much just searched yahoo, and I think the first place I visited was 3 scrapateers. Then I followed links off that site to another, and another, etc. I was really nervous to post at first, and very hesitant to ask questions (or for help), so I encourage you to not be afraid to ask away. Everyone is very helpful! If you are looking for some freebies to get you started I recommend Ikea Goddess' site, as she compiles a daily list of freebies, here is the link: http://ikeagoddess.blogspot.com/

I also don't know anything about scrapmax, so I can't help you with that I already had Photoshop CS2 because I have been using Photoshop on and off since high school; I have always used it to edit my photos and various other things. I hope this helps. Good luck and welcome to digi-land!

Welcome! I use Photoshop CS2 for scrapping, but I've also used Photoshop Elements for other graphics work. It's a bit more user friendly than CS2, and much, much cheaper. That might be a good program to start out with if you don't want to spend a lot of money. And there are a ton of tutorials on the web for most of the major image editing programs, so whatever you choose, you should have no trouble finding information and resources.

Good luck!

I started out about 2 years ago too with very little experience (I used to create Christmas cards in Microsoft Picture It) and started with Adobe Photoshop Elements 3 and now use version 5. A great site that helped me out was www.photoshopelementsuser.com. They have a forum along with videos on how to do basic things in the program. I also swear by my Scott Kelby book - awesome book to learn how to take it up a notch! Welcome to the board - glad to see you here!
