Default Space Shuttle

OHHH, the space shuttle is scheduled to land about 40 miles from where I live!!! I'm sooo excited. I think I might take the kidlets out to the base and hopefully get some good shots.

GO!

We saw it once in Dallas as it passed through on the way from Edwards to FL - it had been diverted because of weather or something, and it landed at DFW and was there for a day. It was awesome to get to go see it just sitting on the tarmac piggy backed to a plane. The kids would think it's awesome (and I'm way jealous! LOLOLOL)

It is pretty cool to see for the first time. I think I saw it for the first time when I was like 5 or 6. I remember going outside to see it take off then going back in and seeing it on tv and running back outside thinking it was like a do-over. We see it on tv usually when it lands but hear the noise from the sonic booms which really sucks when it lands at like 5 in the morning LOL.

We couldn't get close enough to see the shuttle land. It did fly right over our heads though!!! It was definitely cool. There must have been about 500 people at the Airforce base air park.

Oh, how cool is that!! Though I had no idea that it was an actual shuttle that lands, I was thinking more like what I saw on Apollo13, lol...that little container or whatever. Apparently I'm clueless about all that stuff!
