Default Good news, and, yes, more bad news

Well, Emma's surgury went great. well, sort of. they were originally going to pull one front tooth and cap the other two with silver. but the other two had become infected too. so she had 3 of her top front teeth pulled. and they didnt put anything in their place, which i thought they would. so i guess she'll be toothless til her adult teeth come in in 3 to 4 years. she had some cavaties in a couple molars they filled too. she might not have the greatest smile, but atleast she won't be in pain. they said she did really good, even afterward and she woke up she didnt cry. she's my tough cookie! and the nurses all just gushed at Emma, saying how good she was and how beautiful she is she's been sleeping off and on since we got home, still groggy and a little cranky; very quiet. poor baby. no drinking out of straws or sippy cups for 2 weeks. no sticky candy. and amoxicillian (sp) 3 times a day. so, 3 cheers for Emma for being a big girl!

now, for more bad house related news. they fixed the pipe behind the tub that busted. when they left, Chad turned on the water and heard more water gushing somewhere under the house, so we must have another pipe broke AND water was gushing out the back of my precious washer!! we just got the new washer and dryer not even a year ago, so i hope i can call HH Gregg and have them fix it; not sure what the warranty covers. or maybe i can turn it in to my home owners insurance. have to look into it. so even if i did have water, i couldnt' wash any clothes. so tomorrow, DH and i are going to have to go to the laundromat. i've got a bunch of wet towels that need washed and we are running out of clean clothes. so who knows when i'll have water.

if i hear any more bad news, i'm going to run away someplace warm and never look back!!!

The years will fly by and she'll be getting her teeth back before you know it! My 6 year old lost her 2 front teeth in an accident nearly 3 years ago and we are still waiting for her to get them back. You get used to it within a few weeks, but the hope on getting them back is still in the back of your mind all the time.

That stinks about the pipes bursting! I hope it doesn't ruin much and doesn't cost much to get fixed!

Glad to hear that Emma's surgery went well! Look into "flippers"...my DH's cousin knocked out one of his front teeth in a tobogganing accident and because of his age they can't fix it until he's an adult...they got him a "flipper" that fits in there, it's a plastic tooth. He can't eat with it in, but for looks it works well.

i've heard about those. however, they stitched up the holes after he extracted them, lol. He claims her adult teeth will come in fine, possibly a tad bit delayed, but otherwise fine. it'll just be awhile. she's 3 now, Chloe is almost 6 (will be on saturday) and she hasn't lost any teeth yet. i keep telling myself, 'atleast she won't be in anymore pain and will get no more infections from them'. but i was really hoping they'd put some kind of fake teeth in there, lol.

The flippers that Tanner got were removable, they just fit in the space...I can't remember exactly how it worked. He was 8 or 9 when he had his accident though and he'd knocked out an adult tooth. At least Emma will eventually have it replaced!

Corey, so glad that Emma made it through her surgery well....Sorry to read that they had to pull her teeth, but as you mentioned, she won't be in pain....As I mentioned in a previous post, my niece went something similar and had to have her top two teeth pulled....The Dentist didn't think her permanent teeth would come in, but they finally did....Good thing because they talked about lansing (sp) her gums if they didn't....Big HUGS to Emma for being such a brave little trooper....

Sorry that you have another broken pipe....How very frustrating! I would try to claim whatever you can in regards to your broken pipes on your home owners insurance....Can't hurt to try....

Hey, I'll run away someplace sunny and warm with ya'....LOL
