Question blogger help

I am revamping my blog for the new year and I am having a hard time with the spacing of the widgets. I want them to be closer, since I am using .png files to make my blog a bit more interesting. I have googled and tried a number of things, but I still can't get it to do what I want. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Could you post a link to your blog so we can take a peek?

There is just too much space between my .png images and what they are representing, I want to make them closer together.

Trim your .png's as closely to the image as you can. Just because it's clear doesn't mean the text can go over it. Technically it's still used space.

It's possible you need to change the line height in your side bar. Right now it's all saying 1.5em...maybe change it to a tad smaller like 1.2 or something.

I decided to just do it the old fashioned way and just put everything in an HTML widget. This gave me the look I was going for. I tried what you had mentioned above earlier, but it still wasn't working, but I am liking the way it is looking now,
