Default How long have you been scrapping?

The other thread with last year's layouts had me wondering. It surprised me that so many of you are relatively new at scrapping and soo fabulous at it already. So how long have you been doing digi?

I did my first digital page in November of 2005. Sometimes it amazes me how much digi has become a part of my daily life. I started uploading layouts at DST in 2006 and have over 1000 layouts in my gallery there!! It's been amazing to watch the digi community grow and change so much over the years and it's been awesome to meet so many fabulous ladies at the same time

What about you?

I have been scrapping for about a year and a half now. It doesn't seem that long, but I guess it is. I had started paper scrapping, but quickly found digi to be way easier to clean up!

I did my first digi page in June 2004...so I guess I'm coming up to 5 years already! Yikes! I was a paper scrapper before that for about 8 years (I started in high school with the magnetic albums and lame captions, lol).

Well I started paper scrapping in 1998 and was very active in the paper community for all those years. After a major problem with a mag that I did some work for, I got totally burnt out and disgusted with scrapping as a whole. So, I thought I'd try my hand at digi. I needed a change. That was the summer of 2006. I haven't done a paper layout since. LOL! I started designing in May 2008 and haven't done many layouts of any kind since then.

I uploaded my first layout at SBB 2/10/05 and have over 700 layouts there, but I don't think everything I've ever done actually got posted there. I don't think I have ONE COMPLETE gallery anywhere, but I bet SBB comes closest to accurate. I had fiddled with digi for awhile before that, so accurately I would say late 2004?

I started paper scrapping after receiving a gift of supplies Christmas 2003. I tried to stay away from digital because I already spent too much time on the computer for work as a web designer. But I was only able to stay away from digital until early 2006 after my youngest was born.

First layout was completed on August 2, 2008. MY DST gallery now has 123 layouts in it - 94 of those are from SSD products. Wow - that averages to 20 layouts per month!!

I never paper scrapped because I really hate cutting and pasting things. I started digi scrapping when I was trying to find something to do with the thousands of photos that I have of my kids.

I started paper scrapping when Andy and I got married. That was back in August 2002. I became obsessed. But I hate my handwriting, so I got PSE4 so I could journal where I wanted on a 12x12 page and print it with my beautiful HP9800 wide format printer. Then I discovered a few digi sites. That was back in '06. I did it for a little bit, but hated the kits and really missed my paper and glue (I like the feeling of paper layouts) Last summer I was searching galleries for inspiration, I had major block. And I hated the graphic look that so many galleries are jammed with. This place is most like paper scrapping. So I can do a digi here, then I can similate it in a paper layout. KWIM. I would love to get a photobook done. But I don't have the patience. When I open PSE to resize, I just end up scrapping instead. I think I will scap until the day I die.

I paper scrapped for a while when Abby was a baby. It got to be too much when she was up walking. I did signatures for years on an MSN group, and Shannon (zacola) switched over to scrapping and she got me sucked in. I did my first digi page in early March of 2007.

I tried once for like a month back in 2006 but just couldn't get into it. Then in July of 2008 La rak'd me one of her kits and that was that, lol. I have just been trying to learn everything I can since then.

I uploaded my first digi layout to SBB in Feb 2005 - so almost 4 years. I don't have any one gallery with ALL my layouts. MSA comes closest - it has almost all of my LOs since August 2007. I've started using my Flickr account to post all of my layouts.

I started digi scrapping in late Oct of 2007....so about 15 months or so. I did paper scrapping before that, I started September 2003. Since starting digi though I don't do much paper scrapping. I find that I am able to be more creative digi.

It will be 5 years this summer I never scrapped with paper before, so this was my first introduction into scrapping.
I scrap with paper for about 2 years now; I started doing that when I used to work at a scrapbookstore.

I went to my first Creative Memories party in August 2000 and did a handful of pages and then heard about LSS's and CK and Simple Scrapbooks and have been an avid paper scrapper since 2002. I did my first digital page on Dec 31, 2004.

I started paper scrapping about 8 or 9 years ago, as little kid with my mom Haha, but I started digi scrapping about a year ago when I got a new camera & PSE for Christmas one year, for the purpose of just editing my pictures before paper scrapping, along with a LOT of paper scrapping supplies. I kinda discovered digiscrapping through my googling on paper layouts, and I became more serious about digi scrapping about a month or so ago.

I never scrapped a page in my life until I started digi. I stumbled upon digi right before I had my daughter in the Fall of 2004 and started to dabble in Jan 2005. It took me awhile to start posting my pages online.

I agree that the digital community has come such a loooong way the last few years. I get a bit overwhelmed when I go to DST now and see just how many new designers are out there. When I started digi, there were probably a handful of sites to shop at.

In May 2006 I discovered the Shabby Princess.... I had been using Paint Shop Pro for about a year before that, so it was an easy start for me! I just had never done any scrapbooking before, so that was slow, but I've always been crafty.

Hmmm... I was a paper scrapper since like, 1991. Bought my first digi kit in December 2007 and finally got up the nerve to do a real page sometime last spring?!?! So, not quite a year for me. Thus far(as my gallery shows...) I like to collect kits, but still am not comfortable digi scrapping yet. You ladies(and gent) are amazing!

I've been "officially" digiscrapping since June of 2003. I made sigs before that, and a friend swears up and down that they are mini-scrap pages, so unofficially since 2000. LOL!

My first page was in August 2004, but I didn't really get serious about it until about mid 2006 or so? So its been about 2.5 years for me!

Although, I didn't get into the swing of things and actually like my pages until I had Avalynne. Then it was like BOOM, and I actually really cared about my pages being pretty. I wanted them to rock for her, kwim? Then I started putting extra love into my pages and I love every one!
