Some people...
Sooooo I picked up Faith from pre-k today and we ran to the store quickly for bread and milk. On the way there, a woman merging into my lane, nearly swiped my tail-end. I'm usually a very kind driver who lets people in and whatnot but she was driving in my blind spot apparently so I didn't see her until she finally swerved.
Well she FOLLOWED ME TO THE GAS STATION... FREAKING FOLLOWED ME!  She parks her car right behind mine in the parking spot so I can't drive away... and she gets out... Beeyatch: *ahem* Didn't you see me back there!? What the hell is wrong with you!? Me: *raises eyebrow* With me, you say? Beeyatch: Ugh, I should report you to the police for reckless driving. (uh yeah, driving the speed limit, minding my own business, reeeal reckless) Me: Really? Well, please do... so that they can explain to you that when interrupting the natural flow of traffic, you do not have the right of way. Beeyatch: *mumbling obscenities* Me: And let me please remind you of the day and age in which we live... people have killed strangers for less than this. Suppose you'd caught the wrong person on the wrong day? Beeyatch: YOU'RE THREATENING ME!?!?!? Me: *smiles* You're reaching... I think it'd be clear if I was. I'm going to ask you this one time to go away so my children and I can go on with our day. After that, we just may end up dealing with the police after all. Aaaand she stormed off. W.O.W. I guess I'd forgotten that there are these people out there... I knew they were, I'd dealt with plenty of them when I worked. It's just so surreal when it happens to you personally.  I'm hoping she was having a bad day because I feel a little sad for her if that's how she really is all of the time.

LOL Yeah... our "main drag" is 2 lanes and then drops down to 1. She was in the lane that was ending and blamed me because I didn't... I dunno... speed up or slow down to let her in. I dunno, it was so completely weird.

Nutcase. Well, at least there wasn't an accident... in which case, you would be dealing with her for weeks!
You handled that very well, btw! I think I would have just gotten flustered and said something I would regret!

Sounds like she's the type to blame someone else, even if it's her own fault. You handled it pretty well.

I hate that too (being forced to let someone merge) and you didn't even see her!
My mom's car was hit on the interstate by a trucker coming on from a left on ramp - he yelled at her for not letting him in, she never even saw him until he hit her! Then he lied to the police and said she hit him.

Holy.
Freaking. Carp. That's insane. I would've gotten out of my car with my phone in my hand dialing 911 or the police and told them I was being harassed. My gawd, wtf is wrong wtih people?!

my husband had a similar encounter with some old man and merge lane. The guy put his signal on and just started getting over. No room and someone was right on my husbands bumper so he didnt want to slam the brakes down so he passed the guy trying to merge. The guy caught up to him and told him basically the same thing that the lady said to you and he said he gave him "a courtesy signal" my husband was like WTH is a courtesy signal?? LOL It happens ALOT where we live because the roadways are so terribly conjested in Orlando. Precisely the reason I am begging my husband almost daily to move out of this area and out in the boonies where there is barely any traffic!!
