Default Lost SPOILERS

I'm going to stop in during the commercials to say. WHAT THE HECK?

When was that, in the opening scene? The past? How far in the past?

And....the guy who paid for Kate's lunchbox...that was the guy from the island by the Egyptian statue in the past? Is that different than the statue with the big four toed foot?

It's Jacob. You know, the Jacob they talk about and we never see.

This is a very interesting episode. So far I'm hooked.

Lots of Sayid's muscles is doing the trick...

Not sure if it is or not.
But, the statue is of the Egyptian god, Sobek, which I know because I googled to see what it was when I saw it too, lol.

There's a few different ones it looks like...I thought it was Anubis back when we saw the back

There's also a pregnant lady statue with 4 toes..forgot her name. All kinds of crazy spoilers out there. I think the head on Sobek is different than the LOST statue but i'm not positive. Gonna look it up tomorrow lol

tonite was so weird...Weird how they had a dead Locke while he was inside with Jacob...

and poor Juliet

SNAP!

That was the fastest two hours . . . so many questions answered, so many more questions asked.

I mean, did the fact that Juliette detonated the hydrogen bomb negate everything we watched with the fake Locke? And if not, what was up with Jacob? Seemed like he knew he was going to die and allowed it to happen.

And was that REALLY Jacob that was running around touching everyone . . . or was it the other guy/the fake Locke that just looked like Jacob? Hmmm . . . oh my mind is reeling.

Seriously. We have to wait for 7 months. Aarrrgghh!!!

I thought it was an awesome episode! I loved how it began..b/c we've been asking for 4 years "who's jacob" and there he was! But who is he REALLY, and who is the "man" who wanted him dead.

I think it's pretty much been established in the hard-core LOST forums that the statue is supposed to be that of Anubis.

I feel like it probably was really Jacob we kept seeing in the past...there's some big thing going on here and I think he must have kind of rbeen moving the Losties toward their "destinies" ...did you notice that in every flashback they made a point of showing Jacob touch them in some way..or most of them I think.

I think it's SO cool that Locke isn't really Locke. I loved all the little flashbacks to events that we'd heard about but never seen.

We found out that Richard doesn't age b/c Jacob made him that way...so now my question is Richard one of the people on the Black Rock or was he on the island before the ship came? I hope so b/c I've always liked the theory that Richard has "always been there"

The scene with Juliet falling...oh man I was bawling. (FYI Elizabeth Mitchell has signed onto a pilot for another series so we may not be seeing Juliet again )

I hate Kate.

I think it was a great setup for the last season...b/c we don't know what to expect and that's just what makes LOST the best show on TV

That was great. They were being all nice and cordial, discussing things and I looked over at my husband as Jack started to walk away and said, "he's going to pound him" and sure enough he decked Jack. And then I said, "well, Jack should have seen that one coming." Great fight scene until Juliet broke it up.

I don't actually like Juliet. She just rubs me the wrong way but I didn't want to see her die. That made me sad.

The whole rest of the episode just made me scratch my head but I love the confused feeling I get from the show. I feel just as lost as the characters do which I think is half the fun of the show.

Okay just rewatched this episode lol....

I do think it's cool that Locke isn't really Locke anymore..I mean I don't think anyone saw that coming, but it's also kind of sad? In a way it kind of belittles Locke's character through the entire series..b/c we've always been led to believe that he was special and had a destiny and it turns out he was just a pawn in some epic battle between Jacob and this mystery "person".

Sawyer is just too old for Kate lol...he was like 8 years old in 1976...and then we see a flash of little girl Kate buying a NKOTB lunchbox...she's a baby! lol Well...to us 70's babies she's a baby lol. I think it would have been better if she'd been sucked down the hatch hole lol. Her character totally drives me crazy.

Rose and Bernard! I love that they've just been living out in the jungle and it makes total sense b/c all they ever really wanted was to be together and on the island Rose isn't dying anymore. But their cabin looked a lot like Jacob's cabin..which apparently was never really Jacob's cabin. But remember the flash we had last season of Horace building a cabin? That's confusing to me.

I loved when Sun found Charlie's ring in Aaron's crib...nice touch of remembering him.

Speaking of Sun...I'm not happy with how her character was used this season...we started out with this new, driven, revengeful Sun and the past few episodes she got demoted to follower asking kind of dumb questions.

I laughed out loud when we saw Locke fall out of the window with Jacob just sitting there..not sure why but that was funny to me lol

Best line of the show...Jacob to Ben "What ABOUT you?"

What lies in the shadow of the statue? Apparently Richard answered in Latin which translates to "He who will protect us" ...I've seen it translated several ways online today, but they all are basically the same as this.

lol..i'm a total nerd...i just get way too involved with this show but it's fun the only reason I remember stuff is b/c we have all the seasons on dvd and every year before the new season starts DH and I rewatch all of the previous seasons...so, like I've seen season 1 at least 5 times...but then I usually watch each episode 2 times when it first airs...so yeah..I've seen them A LOT. I'm a lostaholic..i probably need an intervention lol

"I think it's pretty much been established in the hard-core LOST forums that the statue is supposed to be that of Anubis."

Nikki, I rarely post in Lost threads but had I not actually googled it immediately upon seeing the crocodile headed statue holding the ankh I'd have missed it. It was definitely not Anubis. My dh was watching with me and saw it and then he also saw the wikidepia page later, which i showed him because right there on the page was a subtitle, "LOST", statue on Lost, lol.
Maybe there are two statues, who knows, lol. But for once, I can truly say I did see this particular statue, lol.

lol..you're right I was just coming to correct myself..I didn't pay that much attention to the statue when they showed it but here is what Jeff Jenson had to say about it...

"The mug on the edifice sure didn't look like a jackal to me, thus ruling out the Egyptian God Anubis, protector of the dead. No, that face looked like a crocodile, which gets you Sobek, a morally ambiguous dark god who oversees dark waters and preys on sinful souls in the afterlife"

ETA: He just posted his entire recap at EW It's a good read as always

Oh, and it so wouldn't surprise me if Jacob's nemesis turns out to be named Esau. Just a thought.
