CS4 help please!

Hello all! I am fairly new at CS4 although I've used elements for years. I want to run an atomic cupcake action on a custom shape layer but I keep getting the prompt no pixels selected even though I have selected the shape. In elements you simplified the shape. Do you have to do something like that to the shape in CS4 before running your action? Thanks ahead of time for any help!

Rasterize the layer. Just right click on it in the layers palette and select "rasterize" layer. That should do the trick.

What she said. There are a few things that are basically the same but have a different name, which makes it sometimes a little harder to adjust to the program. I have it the other way round - I do use Photoshop CS 4 but my husband PSE and sometimes asks me for help. And there I am thinking I can help and then it doesn't work the way I want it to, hehe.
