Default Help!

I would like to share my layouts with you but I can't upload anything.
I see most of the layouts are 600x600 pixels. But if I upload, they are too big. If I decrease them to 175x175 pixels it's only a small picture. You can't even see anything. What am I doing wrong?

They need to be under 150kb to be placed in the gallery. That might be the problem if it is saying that it is too big.

What software do you use?

If I make my photo below 150kb my picture still stays small. Other pictures are 600x600px. Mine are 225 max. How can I get them bigger, like 600px and still below 150kb?

I personally LOVE paint.net for resizing (go to www.getpaint.net to download the free program).

I resize my layouts to 600x600 pixels, 72 dpi. Then, I hit save as, .jpeg, and after you name it, it lets you do a slider to get it to the right file size. I slide mine until the highest possible under 150, and then save.

Ooooh, I can help! I use PSE6!

When you finish your layout, save it one final time, then flatten it (CTRL+SHIFT+E). This will make your file size smaller to start with.

File - Save For Web - if a window pops up saying something about it being too big, just hit Yes to continue.

Set the "New Size" dimensions for 600 x 600 (constrain proportions), and Elements will automatically save it at 72 dpi, which is the right ratio for internet viewing. Make sure the "Preset" is JPEG High.

Save and upload. I've never had an issue with my uploads being too big when I do it this way.

Yes, this, and if by chance they are still too big, here's how to fix it. In your "save for web" window, just under the "help" button (to the right), there is a little arrow. Click on it and it will say "optimize to file size". Click on that and just put in "150" and click "OK", then "OK" again on the main "save for web" window to save it.

Oh Thanks ladies. I will try this afternoon with a new layout. I always save to web, but that last comment is something I never knew about. You will see if things have worked out for me, haha
