A School Final I'm Actually Looking Forward To!

Last night I was in my Fundamentals of Design class, and he was giving us our final assignment. You tell me what this sounds like:

Create a 17"x11" two page magazine spread. It CAN cross gutters, if you'd like. You must include at least 5 images, and 1/4 of your finished product must be text/journaling/copy. You can do this using Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro.

Tell me that doesn't sound like creating a scrap layout??? Basically, it is supposed to be a story about myself... which sounds a heck of a lot like our book of me project that we work on every month!

We are also required to turn in 5 thumbnails (essentially, the same thing as sketches). I love drawing out layout sketches, so I was able to whip out way more than 5 during class... but seriously... how easy is this?

I'm basically being graded on something I do on a daily basis anyway! FOR FUN!
And, we're allowed to use the school's large format printer and print our page 11x17 for class... FOR FREE!

Definitely! Our rough comp (1/2 size of the final) is due next Thursday, but I'm going to work on it today, and figure it out... see how that'll work.

In class, we're going to look at each others' and give constructive criticism, and then adjust our layouts accordingly...
