Default Black Friday Retail Shopping..who's going?

and what's your "game plan"?

I just plan on hitting Walmart (5am) for some XBox games and possibly Toys R Us and Old Navy. I usually don't enjoy the crowds but shopping alone is rare for me and dh will be home and hopefully ev1 asleep when I leave (and quite possibly when I get home!)

All I want is the 2TB desktop EHD at Target for $69. Rumor has it that they'll be offering their BF sales online as well, so if I can do that, I'm snagging it that way. TOTALLY worth the shipping to me.

My in-laws will go out shopping. I'm undecided as to whether or not I'll go with them. I HATE the crowds and the lines, and I never need anything so it sort of ends up being a waste for me. I'd rather stay home and craft (which I'll actually be able to do since we're hosting this year!).

I'm going! I want the Kitchenaid Mixer at Walmart for $150 for my mom. I'll be doing Black Friday prices at KMart and possibly old navy.

Going? Yes. Buying? No. Mom needs my help snagging a camera for my brother, but she's paying for it... we just need to reach several parts of the store at once, so I'm her extra hands...

We'll do ours online...the EHD at Target is on our list too! Not sure if we'll be able to get the reader @ Best Buy for 99---it's limited quantity, but they pledged that their sales would be good online as well.
And then there's the $25 Leapster at Walmart. We'll pick up what we can online...I'm not dealing with the crowds in those stores!

I MIGHT go over to Big Lots...they are having TV on DVD for $6 per season...will see if there's anything DH might like for Christmas. And I might pop into Mardel as well...but neither of those stores are uber-packed like Best Buy, Walmart, and Target will be.

I usually stay far, far away from the stores on BF. But after seeing some of the deals you ladies are hoping for, I may just have to join you in the stores, or at least online.

Enablers!

I'll be hitting Wal Mart for some Wii games (and the laptop if I decide to go that route), and Lowe's, because we're replacing all of our Christmas lights with led. Their sale that morning, plus the $3 off for turning in old light strands makes them a really good price. But other than that, I'll be just hanging out at the house that day, lol.

I don't like crowds or lines at ALL!!

But hubby goes. It's really not even Christmas shopping for us--it's just good deals of things we need/want. We don't get big gifts for our girls so they wouldn't be on sale anyway (most anyway...)

My plan is to go to the credit union tomorrow and make sure the credit card is ready to go. Then make myself hot cocoa with mini marshmallows and click & charge anything I can from the warm house.

I used to go out before dawn. Now I sit home and enjoy the online deals. I'm not going for any big ticket items (and I've had enough experience sitting outside of Best Buy hoping to not end up with pneumonia and not being early enough to get anything). I might end up out in the afternoon because my mom sometimes calls and says she wants to go after all of the doorbuster deals have ended.

Wishing everyone who is going out a fun and safe adventure! Can't wait to share in your reports about the craziness and the deals you were able to snag.

I love to go out for a least a few hours on BF, but we're usually at my parents' so I can't go for long and Target is the only one of my favorite stores close enough to get to. Toys R Us is too far, and I don't think they have Best Buy. I'll check out the online deals, but I probably won't be buying too much.

The only thing Im interested in is the Nintendo DSi's at Walmart but I dont want to fight the crowds. If I can get them online then I will do that and just pay for shipping but I dont even know if the prices are good online or not. If I can't get those then we will just get refurbished DS's for the kids from Game Stop.

I've thought about it too...but only if I had someone to go with. Since no one in my family...or any of my friends are even thinking about it...it's probably not going to happen. I'd end up buying something just because it's on sale!

Check Toysrus.com. I got a DSi with the new Mario/Luigi/Bowser game for $169. Really good deal, because the game system is $149 and that game is $50, so definitely worth it. Not sure about all Wal Marts, but ours isn't going to have a DSi on sale for BF, only a DS Lite. (you can see the ads early at www.blackfriday2010.com)

Well since the Walmart ad I got in the paper the other day said that the DVDs, games and toys would go on sale at midnight I am staying up! I will hit Walmart at 12:01 am on Friday and then possibly go to Target and Hobby Lobby later in the day.

I was going to get either the EHD at Walmart or Target but I will check online first.

If I were at home, in my small town I might venture to Target on Friday, but I am down in heavily populated Naples, FL and NO WAY am I going to deal with the crowds here. Most of the time the stores have very limited stock of the great sales anyway & I cannot see getting up at 2am to stand in line for 3 hours only to learn they only had 10 of that game system or laptop I wanted & those went in the first 5 seconds the store was open.

I shop online. It's worth the shipping cost to me not to have to deal with the people.

EXACTLY! I went to Walmart 2 years ago looking for the old style Leapster for my son and we were there at 5 am but by the time we actually got to the toy aisle they were all gone.

I'm going with my MIL and SIL, we're probably going to Kohl's & Target. And then I want to go to the Disney store. I'm pretty sure those are the big places we're planning on.

I'm just shopping to shop though. LOL! I'm done with the kids shopping, I need to pick up something for Keira from my mom, hence the Disney store. They had great sales there last year.

I'm not a huge fan of crowds, but I don't have anything in paticular in mind that I need to get, so I won't be fighting anyone.

If you are looking for a DSi check Target now...it is on sale for $119 until Wed.

If you want a DSlite (and don't mind refurbished) it is on sale at GameStop for 69.99 on Black Friday.
http://bfads.net/Ad/GameStop-2010/Page3

We looove Black Friday. We actually go out on Thanksgiving AM (K-mart and Meijer) then up all night at the outlet mall...then to Target to stand in line for the 4am sale.

Target is always the BEST at Black Friday!!! I think they have good deals, and they always have decent stock, too. I love that store.
Check out the "tips" for Black Friday...I love it!!

We will probably just get a refurbished one for each of the kids from Game Stop. My 5 yos first one was a refurbished one and he didnt know the difference. I dont know if we should do the original DS or the DSi though.

We are doing DSlite because it can play GameBoy Advance games and the DSi can't.
I can only find the DSlite at our GameStop...I don't think they have many more plain DS inventory much anymore.

2 TB ehd @ Target?! Tempting. But only if I can get it online. The ONLY place I'm remotely tempted to go to is the Gymboree Outlet and that's only b/c you can't buy online. But since I'm sick, I doubt I'll bother. I'll be shopping Gymboree online tomorrow and look at Target and Best Buy and Walmart online (and maybe Old Navy) but if I can't order it, I don't need it. I'm SO not a shop-with-the-crowds person.

No way! I am already done with my shopping for the kids except for stocking stuffers which I can get anytime.

For those looking for the Nintendo DS Lites, check your Radio Shack stores if you have them! I picked up two pink DS Lites form my girls for only $89.95 each last week which is the same price as they'll be at Walmart on BF. The guy at my store said all colors are on sale

Good luck dude, I think they only have like 25 per store. Best skip TRU and go get in line.

ok who's back in 1 piece? I survived..but wow it was INSANEEEEE

I ended up skipping TRU the parking lot alone was a mad house and the line to get in (even at 530am) was wrapped around the store..no thank you

Fared well @ Old Navy though! I might hit Target later on today..there wasn't anything dire I needed so going to let that crowd die down a bit

I picked up the kids digital camera and Cars twin size comforter at wal-mart online. That made me pretty happy. Then I hit up Target, but they were out of the main thing I went there for the Ninja chopper, but I did get a crock pot, a hair dryer and 2 DS games. Then I went to Shoe Carnival and got myself a new pair of boots.

Woot! we went! We got in line at TRU at 8, doors opened at 10 and we were among the first in line, got everything we wanted...Then we ran to walmart and SAT ON the Kitchenaid mixers for an hour and almost died getting one, but we did it! Stupid lady tried to take it out of my sister's hands so I smacked her hand away and told her off...stupid!

Then we went home and slept and I went to KMart at 7:30 and got everything I wanted there!

We spent $480 and saved $400 and my xmas shopping is almost completely done!

BF isn't big in Canada, but I did get a $200 espresso machine for $70 online today! I have been thinking about getting myself one...to deter myself from Starbucks. I can now drink iced mochas at home to my hearts content.

I ended up going to Walmart at like 11 am this morning just to see if any of the $4 board games were left and got Candy Land for Allie. I was walking down the aisle of bath towels and spotted How to Train Your Dragon just sitting randomly on a shelf... and got it for $9! My SIL was at Walmart at midnight and said they only put out like 10 How to Train Your Dragon DVDs for $9 and she really wanted it but didn't get it. I totally lucked out that I found one!

I have the best boyfriend in the world because he went to Target at 5:30am today and bought me the 2TB EHD for $69. I just don't get to have it until xmas. LOL

We spent our day mall shopping and got a few great deals:
4 webkinz @ $5.00 each for my girl
2 headlamps at Brookstone (2 for $40); we are geeks cuz-these are for walking/jogging at night.
bottle of cologne for my man @ $24.00 which smells awesome
2 tops for myself in Dillards at 70% off which amounted to $20.22

That's about it for me today EXCEPT I'm off to shop SSD!!!!!!! Hope you all found some awesome deals at home or at the store and that your feet don't hurt too much.

I had a BLAST doing black Friday last year, but this year, I didn't have any big ticket items I had to have. Two days ago, I bought several things for the kids on amazon.com. My mom and I ordered a Kinect for Xbox with 3 games at walmart.com last night around 9:00, but then I went to bed. I woke up at 4 am when I heard it sleeting and that sealed the deal that I was NOT going out. I went back to sleep and when I got up at 7:00 this morning (the kids were at grandma's and the hubby slept in), I bought some clothes at Oldnavy.com. But the BEST part... we went back to the jewelry store after talking about upgrading my wedding ring (actually, I only had an engagement ring as a wedding band wouldn't fit with it)... anyway, they had a Black Friday sale going until 2 and when we got there at 12:30 there were no lines. Long story short....

Look what I got! Now I have a wedding band and a beautiful ring too! HAD to share! (Resizing pic now!)

I got literally everything I went after plus some. Had a fabulous day. Except for the lack of sleep part.
