What games are must-haves for my 10-year-old brother? We've already got every variation of Angry Birds, but that's about it.
Any suggestions? We're getting ready for an 18 hour car ride, so... help ![]()

We play a lot of Angry Birds & Fruit Ninja. Both my 4 year old & I play, so I would assume a 10 year old would.

Okay, we already got all the Angry Birds versions and we got Plants Vs Zombies, so as soon as he lets go of the ipod, we'll add some of the others y'all suggested.
We still want more suggestions, though!!! Seriously. Anything. 18 hours is a LOT of time to fill.

What about going to the library? And getting some puzzle books from the grocery store? The battery isn't going to last 18 hours on that thing, and really, should he be playing it for that long anyway?

yea that is true...my battery runs down FAST when I play games. Itll last a long time with music though. I would get some books to read and maybe like some coloring books or a blank notebook with markers/pencils/pens for car games & for him to draw in.

I'm not even going to be in his car-- he's riding with mom and dad, and I'm riding separately. So I have no idea how long he'll *actually* be playing it. He hates coloring, and only reads when he's forced to, so I know they're taking books and everything. They have some car games that will fill up some time, but if anyone has suggestions on those, it'd be great! Trust me, I doubt he's playing it for the full 18 hours. Mom just wants to make sure he has as much variety as possible... especially because he's ALREADY exhausted some of the games I downloaded today. :: sigh ::

what about knex? does he like those? My boys would build with knex for hours. Or Legos? Maybe taking a bucket of one or the other if he enjoys those because he can hold the bucket and build over it so it doesnt spill then replace the top along with his creations into the bucket if he gets bored of it.

Bejeweled, Old school blocks, Word Warp, Contraptions, Tower Madness, Monopoly, Scrabble, Farkle(kinda like yatheez), Or some of the card game apps, like solitare or hearts, or some drawling apps like Life Sketch, or Doodle buddy. Does he do sudoku or any word scramble type games? Those can help stimulate his brain some.
We have a lot of the popular ones too, like cut the rope, angry birds, tiny wings, fruit ninja, and stuff. We also have movies, music and audiobooks on the one for the kids.

He's good at avoiding the video games, etc, when he can go outside and play... but in the car, he can't really go outside and play. That means hours upon hours of I Spy, and everyone gets kind of sick of that. I've tried coming up with other fun games for him to play, but, hasn't happened yet.

He might get carsick playing the games and moving or maybe that is just me. I cannot even read anything in the car.
How about giving him a project to do....he has to draw 20 things he has seen on the road and create a story about it. Give him some pencils and paper and let his imagination do the rest. |
