dpi doesn't really matter, pixel dimensions do. What size, in pixels, are the photos?

Agreed. I have an XS and I have mine set on Large Fine also, and the dimensions are 3888x2592...and I've never had an issue with the quality of any of my photos.

I have a canon 60d and mine is also 72dpi. I keep mine on the highest setting which gives me a photo that is 5184x3456. If you print that at 300dpi it is about 17x11 inches I think. So that is what you should think about. I think almost every camera Ive ever had had 72 dpi.

Yep even my 7D is set at 72dpi on the L setting, my images SOOC are 5184 x 3456 (which is huge like 72 x 48) but when I un-check "resample image" on the image size screen in PS and change from 72dpi to 300dpi then it shows 17.28 x 11.52, so your images should be fine as long as your shooting on the highest jpeg setting for your camera
