so i found out that i'm vitamin B deficient (awesome). and i have to have weekly B12 shots. however, the first one gave me a bruise that's probably 2 inches in diameter. i never bruise like this with shots. ever. like, the only time i bruised like this is when i got a heparin shot when i was sixteen.
has anyone else had to have B12 shots and gotten bruised? or is it something i should be worried about? |

I was diagnosed B12 deficient (well, all B, but 12 particularly), but wasn't given shots to make up the difference. I went out instead and bought some Trader Joe's dissolving B12 pills. The RN didn't even suggest shots! Yours sound horrible. Perhaps it was the technician's technique? I've had good shots and bad, bruised ones depending on who was sticking me with a needle!

I had B12 shots last year and don't remember any long term bruising but this is about 10 months later so my memory of having them isnt that fantastic now

i have to do shots AND take supplemental B12 pills. it's loads of fun. /sarcasm.
@ julie- i hope it was just the way the nurse did it. if i bruise again on friday (when i have the next one), i'll ask. the shots themselves? tiny bitty needles. @ jennifer- good to know that the bruises didn't last. thanks ladies! |
