Default who is taking on a lifestyle change for 2012?

So...I lost 70 pounds a few years ago, but have now gained 30 back. I am going to re-dedicate myself to a healthy lifestyle this year, and was wondering if anyone would want a weekly/monthly check in thread? You don't have to post your weight loss/goals if you don't want to, but I personally need all the support/accountability I can get!

So, who is with me?

I need this. My mom and I are tackling Made to Crave this year... if you're not familiar, it's a book from Lysa TerKeurst of Proverbs31 ministries. It's supposed to help with your "Want to" more than your "How to," and compares overeating to indulging in other addictions, like sex or alcohol. I'm really interested in the whole thing, but haven't really dove in yet.
(She now has a book for the "How to," as well, but we're going through the first book and Bible study first).

Only if y'all promise to come beat me up in person if I don't follow through!

I don't know how much I weigh now ('too much' will suffice), but I'm sure I could stand to lose 100 lbs. I'd be thrilled with 50-75 lbs. by the end of 2012.

This month, I'm doing 'Just Dance 3' every night and gradually building up endurance/longevity. I plan on starting to watch what I eat in February and adding 'Zumba' or some other Wii fitness game in March. By the end of March, it should be nice enough to get outside with DD, so then I can do fun things with her that aren't quite so regimented/exercise-y feeling in addition to everything from January, February, and March.

Oh please, yes! I don't really have a weight goal, but I really really want to be stronger and fitter. Yesterday I walked for a few hours in mid-high booties, and I expected the balls of my feet to hurt. But now even my ankles, calves and knees ache. That's scary and ridiculous. I'm going to a doctor in the next two weeks to check it out, but in the meantime, incorporating more aerobic and strength training activity in my lifestyle is a priority! This would be awesome for accountability!

I'd be happy to check in and participate in this link as weell as the one that is going for WW. I am determined to not only lose weight this year, but to change the way I think about food in general. I am a stress and boredom eater and I will never reach a healthy weight unless and until I break my bad habits. As a lifetime fluff, I need all the help and support I can get and I am happy to give it back.

I'm in!!!

I still want to lose between 35-40 lbs from my 4th and final pregnancy. It took 9 months to gain over 80 lbs but is taking a lot longer to lose the weight unfortunately.

I'm in! I got back on the weight loss bandwagon in late December. I need to lose at least 35 lbs. More would be better, but I know that's the highest weight that I feel healthy and happy at. I'm starting with that, and if I can follow through long enough to get there I'll set more goals. Right now I'm mostly focusing on eating less by counting calories. (The problem wasn't so much with what I was eating as how much of it. ) I'm doing a little exercise, but I need to do more.

yep! Im in. I purchased 4 sessions with a personal trainer and started working out this past Monday. I've lost 65 lbs over the past year and a half with my lapband but I have not done my part with the exercise aspect of it. I need to lose about 60-70 more lbs. ACK.

I am so in! The more accountability for me the better! I am too on the WW train. I would like to ultimately lose 54-60 pounds with a goal weight around 165 to 160 (you can so do the math if you want!) It is the weight I gained during both pregnancies (my kids are almost 3 and 4 1/2!) plus a year long stint of unemployment coupled with depression. But my short term goal is 5% which is 10 pounds. I'm already half there to the 5% with 4.8 pounds gone.

I'll need this too. Like Lex I'm not really looking to a weight loss goal but I'd like to be stronger and fitter. Also to eat healthier. And to look after myself on the outside.

We've been working on this since Dec. 1 actually. I wanna lose 15-20 lbs before we go back home. I'm down 5 of them. From there it will be about getting fit and not being out of breath.

I am now 60lbs more then when I get pregnant with my first. I am so tired of carrying around this weight. Last night I did 25 minutes of exercise and I'm hoping I stick with it this time around.

I'm doing the same thing! I'd like to lose 50 lbs. I got a treadmill as my Christmas gift and so far I've been doing that and trying to eat well.

I am doing my official weigh-in this morning, I have been avoiding the scale and haven't weighed in since December 7th.

So, I could post a new thread each Thursday for us to check in with each other?

This sounds great! I need to get started now that the holidays and my daughter's birthday are done. My doctor told me to either lose the weight or have weight loss surgery. Since my insurance doesn't cover any part of the surgery I need to try to lose the weight on my own. Joined a gym and will start with walking on the treadmill/riding the bike. Also going to join WW for the millionth time...need to stick with it this time and make it work!

Here's to everyone reaching their goals! I'll check back next time and will hopefully be able to say I had a solid week of being healthy for a change.

Me!

I actually started in September and am now down 54 pounds. This is kinda why I dropped off the face of the earth for a while. I knew I needed to focus on me for a while. I rarely sat behind the computer for 3 months.

I still have a lot I want to lose but am taking it one step at a time. I set small goals for myself and keep my focus on those instead of a final number.

Me!! I lost over 60 pounds in 2010 early 2011, but gained 30 of it back the rest of 2011

I've started a new boot camp I am loving and trying to get back to tracking my food so I can actually start seeing some results!
