Default So excited... but what should I do?

I just got a really really REALLY exciting email. I had submitted several recipes as part of a contest for a major brand (It's a major brand for baking supplies that recently had a contest utilizing one of their new frostings...)

Anyway. I was just notified that I am one of their winners! They want me to fly to New York and visit their test kitchen!

Here's the deal, though. The trip is in two and a half weeks! That's like... no time. And Zach is still nursing quite a bit... if I went, I'd need to buy tickets so my mom and brother could go with me so she could watch Zach while I was a part of the baking workshop and tour...

....so. Do I shell out the money for them to come with me? Or do I miss out on a really big opportunity? blah. I'm SO excited... but... I don't know what to do!

Oh my gosh! Shell out the money! You can't pass that up. That's why you entered, isn't it?

If it were me and I couldn't afford it, I would stay home. If I could afford it, I would do it. How often do these types of opportunities come along?

How many nights is it? Are you able to express enough milk between now and then, to be able to leave bub with your mum for a day or two?

And if they run out of expressed milk a little bit of formula won't hurt him. Just make sure you pump to keep your supply up. Go for it if at all possible!

This! Take a break for yourself and take advantage that you have someone to watch the baby.

Congratulations, Jenni! I'm so excited that you were picked as a finalist! I hope you get to go. Expressing the milk and pumping while you're gone seems like really smart advice.

Yes, both of these comments. I know I couldn't afford flying all those people, so I'd PERSONALLY, since I'm poor, fly myself and pump a supply to leave with mom and pump while on my trip.

Because of my separation anxiety and how it can really exacerbate my heart condition, leaving him home isn't an option-- the only option would be for them to go. I've got to check flight prices based on the days they want me there, but I really do think that I'm going to accept the prize...

Yes, the prize is definitely part of why I entered, but I never in a million years thought I'd actually win!!!

Try Priceline for tickets. I've heard that outside the city is cheaper to stay and take the subway. I'm sure other people have more advice on how to make it possible for cheap.

Good luck figuring this all out! How exciting!

Good luck! I'd find a way to make it work! I wouldn't have been able to leave my baby either!
