Default please tell me something good....I really need it today

So far today I found out a large package I bought at Old Navy was supposedly delivered to my house yet I never got it. Old Navy says they have to investigate it before re-shipping. Go to look at a house almost get hit by a big truck hauling an even bigger boat that turned left as we were turning right onto the same road and we had a green light. If we had not turned he would have hit us on my husband's side. Get to the intersection where my husband was hit and my son was killed and some guy in a commercial vehicle is texting on his phone and drinking a beer. Nearly crossed the intersection and almost hit half a dozen cars at least in the half mile or so until he turned off the highway. No sense in calling 911 or *FHP because we are so rural the cops are never out here. Finally it started raining so bad you could not see more then ten feet in front of you and the wiper on the passenger side of our truck decided to quit working. I guess it would have been worse if it was the drivers side. Although it was raining so hard the wipers did not have much effect on clearing the windshield anyway. It has been a long, tiring stressful day. So post something happy, funny...anything at all.

I had a few positives. Went to the Space Park over by where my daughter lives. Got some cool photos of the monuments for all the astronauts and the model shuttle they have there. Got the last maternity shots of my daughter with her husband today. And he even came without a hat and no sunglasses. And we *may* have found a new place. We are not sure yet. This place needs a little work but it is not major work and is twice as big as where we live now. So those are my good things.

Sorry you had a stressful day....

My daughter turns six next week so we're getting excited about her parties (one for school and one at home), she's counting the days until she can have her birthday cake. That's my happy thought for today

I could tell you a funny story, but Im afraid it's not so funny unless you know me and if you saw it all happen in action - I nearly killed myself, but it was truly hysterical, and the family wishes they caught it all on video (thankfully they didn't!). I flooded my laundry room on accident today (well, is it ever on purpose? lol) because I was being dumb and did something dumb.... and in the midst of mopping it all up, I went sliding across the laundry room floor on the wet floor (with the entire family standing there watching this mess go on... lol) and in the midst of my sliding action I was twirling around, grabbing for anything to catch my fall.... they said I looked like a "terrible ballerina". They said "It was hysterical... until you fell... well, that was funny too, once we found out you were okay!". Ahhhhhh.... the whole mess was funny.. trust me. LOL!!!!

I think Im safer just relaxing here at desk! :-)

LOL Laura. That reminded me of a time we went to an all night laundrymat and some idiot had decided to pour laundry soap and water all over the floor. It was not really concrete because it was really smooth but it did not have tiles either. At any rate it made it very slippery. All of us almost fell going in and then realized we were going to either slide all over the place and possibly have to rewash clothes if we dropped them or waste one of our towels cleaning the mess (we chose the latter). I laugh because none of us fell but I kinda wonder how many others were there before us. Since it was 24 hour open air laundrymat they did not have attendants only someone who came and cleaned up once a day and collected the money from machines.

Jakq....as you can see from my ticker we are only four days out. I am a little scared about being a grandma...I love her so much already and all the scary stuff that can happen to her growing up. But also excited and happy at the same time. Kinda like being a new mommy but not quite the same thing

Angie 4 out 5 days is pretty awesome

We have a conference at my youngest's son's school with seven teachers and the IEP coordinator as well as the counseler (talk about feeling overwhelmed). It is hard just to go to the school because Id been there so many times for my older son when he went there. It is also the road where the accident happened. My son is not doing well there at all yet he will not admit that it has anything to do with Matthew going there and being killed so close to the school. He has begged me everyday since summer started to home school him and he has missed school a lot. The school is being really understanding but he has to go to school and we cannot drive him to another school in the community. It just kinda sucks all around. He has talked to a psychologist and the school counselor many times but insists he is fine yet I know my son and I know he is not fine. I cannot make him talk if he does not want to though....ughh anyhow that is another thing that just kinda sucks but I have to do it.

Sometimes ya just gotta go with the flow! or.. with the water! :-)

I did gain something out of it all though - they all pitched in, removed the washer and the dryer, and all the other things on the floor (bins, etc) ... and they finished mopping the mess, and then actually washed the floors and even the walls!! They wiped everything down for me, and then wiped down the washer and dryer too and put everything back in place! My laundry room is now sparkling clean!

And... they feel so badly that they laughed at the whole thing, so they are cooking dinner!

I really should maybe think about doing dumb things more often, huh!

Awesome Amy!! How was it? Harder or easier then you thought? How are you feeling afterwards?

I really want to get back into shape. Im not to much overweight. Im around 170 and should be between 120 & 140. Last time I lost weight it took me about 4 months eating salads almost everyday with lots of vegies, eating on a smaller plate and riding my bike everyday for five miles a day. Problem is it makes me nervous because of some of the men I have encountered when out. Had one follow me home after hitting on me for about 30 minutes at the park I would go to at the halfway point, drink some water, feed the ducks and maybe read for a bit. I made it clear I was married and not interested but he did not take the hint and proceeded to follow me home. I showed my husband him like a day or so later and my hubby stopped the car and told him if he ever came near me again it would be the last thing he did. But still being alone after that incident makes me nervous.

Thanks

I get really anxious when I think someone might hit us and today it was pretty darn close. All I could think is we had went straight instead of turning he would have hit us for sure. After what I have been through that scared feeling after a close call can stay for quite awhile.

Oh one more good thing. My hubby took me to Skip's Boots today (kinda western wear/boots store). I got a reddish-coral colored tanktop, a pretty white dress shirt with pink embroidered flowers, A floral top, a black dress with embroidery on the arms, a white graphic t-shirt and a wallet for my daughter. All on sale So yay for that. Always love getting new clothes!!

It went great. I paced myself slower than normal as I didn't want to run out of energy, but I ran the entire thing and wasn't ready to die at the end. Afterwards my legs are sore and my stomach had it rough, but glory wins out right?

a few happy things have happened or are happening in the next few days

spent 5 days at home with my mum - always like to spend a week or so with her every school holidays but couldn't last time as she was away in Canada and I was working for her

came home today and found a pair of pants that I thought had gone awol but were actually in my wardrobe (I have 2 the same but different sizes)

finally I have my ear, nose and throat specialist appt tomorrow morning - have been waiting since June for it and could have waited to December. If it wasn't this week I probably would have had to cancel as the day the clinic runs is one of the two days I have to be attending school as that class has a 90% attendance pass rate

Here is my happy thing...

My eldest trying quilting for the first time and loved it! Makes so happy that I can share that with her now! She made herself a beautiful pillow!
