Default Talk to me about crossover vehicles....

I am looking for a new vehicle this fall and unsure what I should get. I've never chosen a car myself before. I want something that is comfortable, reliable, has decent gas mileage and can handle winter driving. I currently drive a Toyota Camry that I love, but I need better winter driving, but I do a lot of driving so I don't want to spend a fortune on gas. I have been thinking of the Toyota Highlander, but I don't know anyone with one to ask about it. So tell me about your vehicle and what you like/dislike about it. TIA!

We have a Traverse....LOVE it

It rides like a car, but handles super well in the snow! We have been extremely happy with it for the past 3 years!!!

We love our Camry and with snow tires it's been really good in the snow, even 1-2' unplowed.

I see a lot if Rav4 and Highlanders around though. And a lot of Subarus. Sorry I'm nt more help, but switching out for snow tires made all the difference with our Camry in the snow, even if we have to switch them out every spring/fall.

My Camry handles fine in the snow for an average person, but my job is mission essential so I have to go to work no matter what and I live in the north, so we get a lot of snow. Thanks for the responses thus far.

I have a Tucson with AWD. We got it after my car was totaled on black ice a year and a half ago, so winter weather was definitely on our minds. I drove it on snow this past winter and felt safe, and my DH drove it up to the ski resorts with no problem.

We bought a Nissan Murano back when we lived in Colorado and we love it. It's AWD with a traction control system that adjusts based on the road conditions so it was amazing in the snow -totally night and day compared to our Scion TC and Hyundai Elantra. When we bought ours, a friend said they were popular at Fort Drum (upstate NY) since they did well in the snow. Whether that was true or not, no idea, haha. Gas mileage is usually between 19-21 mpg depending on road vs highway miles. So not amazing but not terrible either.

DH says that people up north LOVE Subaru's because they are AWD and handle so well in the snow.

I am totally in love with the new 2013 Chevy Traverse. The body style changes they made look so awesome.
