Totally going! DH and I saw Narnia in theaters and loved it. I haven't read the books in AGES but I read all of them as a kid and I'm super excited to see them making more of the movies!

Why not, La?

I'm definitely in! It will be the first movie I will have seen in a theatre since Ocean's 13, and I didn't even get to finish that one. But I will find a baby sitter for this one for sure!

From YouTube

Teaser Trailer

Official Trailer

If you're like me, you might find that 2nd one shows a bit more than you'd like to see. I don't like previews that show almost the entire movie in summary form, so I stopped watching part way through. If you're the same, you've been warned.

i remember the books from when i was a kid. i didnt read them all, and actually, the first one was read to us by the teacher. my friend Josh read all of them though. Maybe i should catch up! My DH never read the books, never really knew much about them so he didnt really care for the first movie. what a dork, lol!

If anyone wants to check out movie trailers for upcoming movies, including those not being shown on commercials currently, check out http://www.comingsoon.net/ - it is awesome!! I am always checkin' to see what's coming soon. You can get movie release dates up to 2012!!! *Cars 2 is coming out summer 2012!!!!!!*

edited to add the link to see the trailer for Prince Caspian in case anyone hasn't seen it yet ...

Uh, yeah.

If C.S. Lewis was still alive today, I would totally have his babies.

In a non-sick way and stuff, of course.

Preach it, sistah Lizzy!! *raising roof* I love me some Tolkien and Lewis.

HARDCORE ALERT: I bought tickets for the LoTR exhibit that was traveling the world and being showcased in various museums. Yes, I spent money to go look at Elf costumes behind glass... AND I had a broken pinky toe at the time, so I had to be pushed around in a wheelchair to see the exhibit.

If Aragorn can't get past the fact that I'm not a fictional character based on that proof, I don't know what will sway his heart.

*sings offkey* "If lovin' Tolkien & Lewis is wrong, I don't wanna be right..."

Oh, Bree, I politely stayed out of your Clay Aiken thread and this is what I get?

My friend and I closed our eyes and plugged our ears absolutely any time a preview for LOTR came on. Well, if we were at home we muted the TV, but you can't do that in the theatre, so um, yeah... Yep, I'm a big freakin' geek, lol. But we went into the movie completely untarnished by any previews, sneak peeks, etc, and it was awesome!

HAHAHAHHAHAHAAAA! Yep, me too!

I just love his writing style and it's something about the way the man thinks- can't get enough of his books. If you haven't read the Screwtape Letters, that's a must have. Awesome book IMO.

DS#2 is actually reading the last book of the series right now, he's almost done and is bugging me on what 'series' he can read next. He's into series books only. He read all Harry Potter books in less than 6 months and the Narnia books in about 2 weeks. I'm thinking the Spiderwick Chronicles. He's 9, anyone else have any suggestions?

Thanks Joan for posting those!
WOW I can't wait either! not that I will be able to see it any time soon... hubbie and I took a date night (which we manage about four times a year, if that!) to go see the last one. Looks like next date night might also be in Narnia!
I know they are not the same as the books... but I love them both anyway, and can't wait to share them with my kids when they are old enough!
Prince Caspian is my second fav of the series (after dawn treader)

There's a new series of books, the first one just came out...I marked it as a book that my kids might want to read when they're older...

Mind you, I have no idea when the next book is coming out, or how many will be in the series....but it popped into my mind.
