Default Does anyone remember Ikea Goddess?

I started my digital scrabooking journey when I stumbled on Ikea Goddess's blog back in the day, when I googled free digital scrapbook. I think it was around 2005-2006, if I remember correctly. Of course I first started searching for digi freebies and downloaded tons of them. I anticipated every day for her new posts, to see what new goodies I would find. I discovered lots of great designers from her and digi stores of course. Once I found the stores and saw the huge difference in product quality, I never stopped shopping. After a while, she closed her blog too.

I don't remember her. Sadly when Google Reader went away I basically stopped reading blogs.

I got into digital scrapbook with the Digi Files. That was great, few kits for a low monthly price.

It was Shabby Princess & Two Peas in a Bucket for me. I made signatures for people in other message boards. Babycenter maybe? Does that sound right? Sought out pretty freebies to make them, and stumbled across digital scrapbooking from there. The rest is history!

I loved Shabby Princess. I still have all her stuff I purchased. She was my entree into digiscrapbooking. I was so sad when she closed her store.

I'm sure I must have known about it when it was around as I was scrapping/designing at the time but I can't recall... I'm a little concerned about my memory these days. I used to remember EVERYTHING and now I feel like I remember nothing. The other day I was on pinterest organizing my boards and I found kits I don't even remember making..

Once photos/scanned items were introduced to kits and designing it totally changed the game! It's amazing seeing just how different things are now.

I was introduced to digital scrapbooking at A Cherry on Top. I remember the dedicated paper scrapbookers called it fake scrapbooking! I'm not sure how I wound up here, but I soon found out that about high-quality products from here. I bought MANY Quarterly Assortments!

So uh... I guess I got started with Shabby Princess too. I have most of my stash sorted by designer and there's a folder for her. I have zero memory but after over a decade, I can't remember those early days at all.

I would look for freebie and RAKs at DigiShopTalk. My first digisite was Gotta Pixel, followed by National Scrapbook designs, and then onto ScrapMatters my home for many years! I floated around to different sites when they closed, eventually coming here.

I also made siggies on Babycenter...I had no idea I could scrap with the kits at the time. I literally thought the kits were for siggies. Haha!

I'm 95% certain that where I first stumbled on Studio Flergs and many more designers that were designing back then. When I get my hands on my old stash, I'll remember more.
