Default Seriously, why do I even bother...

trying to shop at Wal-Mart. They NEVER carry anything I need!!!! Am I just a snob? Do I buy weird stuff? I don't know. But anything I want, I can never find there.

Went there Friday...
My brand of deodorant...nope.
Yellow thread...nope.
Large tub of plain yogurt that's not Dannon...nope.
Greek yogurt...nope.
Decent chorizo...nope.
Stain remover I use...nope.

ARGHH!!!! I dragged 3 kids along with me for a complete waste-of-time shopping trip. EVERY TIME it's like this. And I always swear off the store. But then we're in the area, and I think, "Surely they'll carry my deodorant. And it would be so much cheaper than Walgreens." And I'm ALWAYS wrong. Seriously, I need an intervention to stop me from attempting to shop there.

Target kicks Walmart's butt.

That sounds like a disappointing trip!

Word.

Remind yourself of this current feeling of rage next time you try and drag all 3 kiddos there. :P

That is annoying...all we have is Wal-mart...and that's not even a super center so they have even LESS to choose from. I have to drive 45 minutes to get to the nearest super center wal-mart and the nearest Target is 2 hours away. It's not fair lol

Yep, we are stuck, too. Our nearest Target is an hour away. When I'm there for another reason, like today, then I go to Target and drool over all I'm missing...but for us it's all we have. There are a lot of things I don't get to have because they don't carry!

That's why we shop Target! LOL! Wal-Mart ticks me off like that too plus it is always so darn crowded (at ours anyway) and if you go in and buy 2 things you still have to wait in their express checkout which is 20 (??? WHY 20) items or less for like 30+ minutes.

we have like 4 walmarts within 20 miles of our house so I dont mind walmart so much. The one we go to alot is fairly new so it is hardly ever out of stuff. It is actually kinda crazy I was thinking about this and I think we have 4 walmarts, 4 targets(one is a super-target), like 6 malls, 2 kmarts all within maybe 20 miles of our house.

I don't go to Wal-Mart unless I absolutely have to. I would rather have a root canal!!!

I agree about Target or even Walgreens. We have CVS here that is pretty cool but on the more expensive side.

My nearest Wal Mart is 1 1/4 hours away, we don't have Target in Canada. So I shop there, because I have no choice, there is no big store here where I live! But they always have what I need there.

Walmart sucks....haven't been there in years. I totally hate their business practices and refuse to spend any money there. Target all the way!

That's how I feel about our local Kmart. And I love Walmart, only cuz our local Walmart (the only other store besides our Kmart) has an ok selection. I'd have to travel an hour in any direction to find anything better... And at one time our local Walmart was the smallest one in the country- for real!!!

I gotta tell you, I didn't even know what some of the stuff you were looking for was. lol I shop at Wal-Mart all the time, its a huge money saver. I do try to go to the one that is farther away cause its less crowded, but even the time waiting in line is worth it to me.

Walmart is about the only place we shop ... closest Target is across the border, about 3 hours away.
We drive 45 minutes or so to get to the closest Walmart, drive about another hour or so to get to the really good Walmart (double the size of the one closest to me). We don't shop at the grocery store where we live, other than for quick trips, or the next closest grocery stores, as the prices are insanely high ($3 for Kool-Aid juice boxes at WM, or almost $5 here - $3 cereal at WM vs $6 here ... when you buy 2-3 packs/boxes at a time ... things add up quickly!).

What's weird is things I used to buy that they stopped stocking are now being stocked and now other things I buy they don't stock anymore. Walmart pisses me off. I mean they have like nothing but Tide detergent now. I've used Era since I was 5 years old and now have to go to Albertson's to get it. What is the deal with that??? I feel your pain. I hate shopping with my kids when the few things I need Walmart doesn't have. ARGH!

The Wal-Mart here is really pretty decent. Good selection. (at least for the stuff I'm looking for). And they have Greek Yogurt. I LOVE that stuff!!! It gets crowded on the weekends though. And when the college students return in the fall.

Target is across town. And I don't really like the store that much. It's attached to the mall. It's always really busy and they are never well stocked.

I feel everyone's pain. I used to work at Wal-Mart way back in the day, about 13 years ago. Since then, I've learned how to shop there effectively, LOL! I know when they get stocked, I go in the mornings as often as possible, and if I have a problem, I know who I can talk to. I know which employees are not as helpful and which ones are dependable. For me, saving money is worth the rigamaroll (sp?). And I can't emphasize enough that going in the mornings is going to get you the best Wal-Mart has to offer. Almost all the management team is there, all department managers are working on the week days but you won't find them after 12 noon, and the store is cleanest and stocked the best at that time.

P.S. I was told by one of my former co-workers (who still works there) that Wal-Mart headquarters just hired Target's CEO to reformat everything to make Wal-Mart become more like Target and now all the employees just hate how things are being run. Not that Target runs things badly, it's just the way all the micro-management is handling it, I guess. And don't get me wrong, I like Target, too. Wal-Mart's whole premise (when I was working there anyway) was about customer service. But we all know that doesn't happen as often as it should, that's for sure!

i will gladly pay the extra 3-7% more and shop at target over wal-mart. their business practices are insane and their customer service is non-existant. i pretty much loathe wal-mart.

I just think Dannon is too runny and kinda sticky. I don't know. I'm picky about yogurt, but I love it!

I'll just ditto this. I worked at Wal Mart for almost 6 years. My Wal Mart was "good" but I do know you can get some "bad" ones out there! I just went last night for my monthly shopping trip and yes it was crowded and yes the shelves were running low but I was by myself and that more then made up For it!!!

Normally the boys and I are there at 8:30AM sharp and we can zip through the store (well as fast as you can with a huge blue cart, two helpful toddlers, a waddling pregnant woman and $350 dollars worth of groceries. ) with no problem. The shelves are FULL and you can see a "upper" member of management every other isle.

Getting the most for my $$ is what is most important to me and it helps that I'm kind of loud and sqeaky and I don't put of with crap from anybody.....not even Wal Mart!!!
