We lost

So we are in Las Vegas at a football tournament.

Our first game was against a team from Arizona. Seriously these kids were like professional football players. They have a training facility, paid coaches, and they are the BEST team in all of Arizona.

They beat us.

38 to zero.

OMG, it was terrible.

But after the game one of the boys from the other team came over to Alex and bumped fists and said to him, "Good game, you played hard. Good luck tomorrow."

I was so shocked by that. It was awesome and left me feeling ok with our loss.

We have one more game tomorrow and then I think we'll be home on Saturday.

Sorry to hear this Samara - it's never easy losing, esp when you have a good team and go up against an even better team. I love watching kids play sports, esp. football. they put so much heart into it!!

Good luck to your team! That was a wonderful thing that boy did...and I imagine that someone had done that to him at one time...amazing how a little bit of kindness goes a really long way!

We won our game yesterday. I stayed back at the RV with Annika as she wasn't feeling well. Alex was THRILLED!!!!

Alex told me that a kid on the other team had his leg broken. I feel so bad for him. It's a reminder that football is a violent sport!!!!

We decided to come home last night to avoid the holiday traffic coming back from Vegas.

glad that your team won the second game! my boy is playing soccer ... thank god this is not as violant.... but I'm happy that he hasn't really hurt himself hard since now

What a weekend you had Samara, full of lots of emotions bad and good. I'm glad your son's team won the second game. It had to take out the sting of the loss.
