Default So, who's decorating?

Who's decorating this weekend? Traditionally I break out the decorations and get them up the weekend after Thanksgiving, but with house guests and all, it's Sunday and I haven't even gone to the storage to pull the boxes out. lol

Me!! Later on though when my parents come back from church and someone has gone in the loft to get everything down. Usually we do it the first weekend of December but I have asserted my authority as daughter of the house and stamped my foot and we are doing it today

Me too! Mine has been up for over a week now. My husband draws the line with the outside lights. Those can't go up until December.

We are finishing the house decorations today, and then we will get a tree (we get a live tree) later this week. The lights outside have been up since Thanksgiving .

our tradition is to put the tree up on black friday. last year the kids didn't even want to put a tree up so we waiting until 2 weeks before x-mas and finally made the decision to put one up rather they wanted to or not. this year they could not wait to put it up! they were so excited and happy

We have our lights up and a few knick knacks, but no tree this year. If you've seen any of my LO's regarding "stinker pie" you'd know why.

I got mine done yesterday.

but we only have a 3 foot tree to decorate

and we seem to have lost the lights we put up in the living room, so it took about an hour total to decorate this year

We've put up our tree and hubby put the lights on the house yesterday. I still have 3 or 4 storage bins of knick-knacks and decorations...but I'm not sure that I want to put them out...it's hard enough keeping Rachel out of the tree LOL.

I normally decorate this weekend too, but I have to rearrange my living room to be able to put the tree in front of our big window where I want it and I haven't done that yet. I figure I'll work on that tomorrow while the girls are at school and then drag the stuff in from the garage so we can decorate tomorrow night. Hopefully next weekend we can borrow the ladder from FIL so we can put up our outside lights!

After two days of my house being a complete disaster, I am nearly done. I still have to do the girl's playroom (we have a small tree & stuffed animals), but that shouldn't take long. And we woke up to a couple inches of snow, so it is really starting to look a lot like Christmas

And my dh did the outside lights last week when it was still warm!

We put up our outside lights and most of our decorations on Friday. The tree is up with the lights on, we just have to decorate it.

Not yet, we go up to my parents house in PA and get our tree up there, cuz around here, you can only buy trees that are all wrapped up, then you end up with one that has a huge bare spot!! So, I won't start decorating til I get the tree, which will be in two weeks, at least that is the plan,

Just finished a little bit ago. Got the tree up yesterday and finished all the other decorations today. I still have to put up some greenery on an archway in our den but I have to get some more of those 3M sticky hook things you put on the wall that come right back off.

I have a small Santa collection and then a small snowman collection and I love putting those out! Every time I pull one out of the box and pull the tissue paper off of it, it's like greeting an old friend! I know, I'm strange.

Decorating for Christmas is not something I enjoy.

It goes down like this...

I bitch at DH to get the boxes.
He bitches that I bitch too much.
I bitch some more.
He gets the boxes while bitching under his breath.
We argue about how to put up the flippin' tree.
We argue about the tree leaning.
He sits on his arse.
I spend days decorating while the kids go around after me moving everything.

I've finally decided to let them to all the decorating!!!

One of these days I'm going to get my own tree and decorate it just for me!!!

i just finished putting mine up. Aidan keeps taking the ornaments (shatterproof, luckily) and giving them to the dog. he's chewed up 2 now. grrrrr. i'm very picky about my tree. since i have children, i cannot have the pretty glass bulbs and all those fancy thing. i have to go with the cheapo shatterproof ones. and i would prefer a more victorian type decor with deep reds, golds and dark greens. instead i am stuck with purple and silver strung beads (chloe picked) and red, blue, green, gold, pink, purple, and teal colored balls with a few sparkly silver snowflakes. and a hideous lit silver star for the top, lol. oh well. once they are older i'll decorate how I want it.......someday....

oh, and we just bought the tree last night at WalMart. i hate it. it's very sparse, even after i played with it forever. i call it our Charlie Brown Christmas tree, lol. our ceilings are retardedly low so we had to get a 6.5 foot tree, and that limits you right there in your choices. most are 7ft and higher. Here's a pic of my gay tree, lol

the lettering on that tree skirt is glittery! i got that on clearance at the end of last year at Meijer for like $5!

I am so really not feeling it this year. Especially with our little man. He will probably pull the tree over before I can get it decorated. We just got back from camping today. Our bathroom flooded and nothing has gone right in general today. DH has to work a 96 hour shift starting on Tuesday so I MIGHT be lucky to get the boxes down next Saturday and get the house decorated then.

Ours went up on Friday, my house is still a mess, so I need to actually clean and I think I've miss placed a box of decorations, so I have to hunt for that.

We don't do lights outside yet, we live in base housing and they're row houses, so we don't have much of a yard.

Mine's usually up by now, but we were out of town til late last night. We have our tree up but no decorations on it yet. All the other decorations are up though. I usually put garland on the tree, but I'm not a big fan of it! lol So, I'm gonna by some beads tomorrow. Then we'll put the ornaments on.

Normally we wait until the 4th of Dec. to decorate the house. (old family tradition) but this year I just can't wait. I am so excited because this is the first year that my son actually understands what Christmas is and who Santa is. I am so excited and I want to make his xmas perfect. (Although my husband really wanted a white xmas tree this year and I am not sure how it is going to look once it is decorated.) Oh well.....it will still be great. :O)

I am. I decided I was going to decorate early this year instead of putting it off to the middle of the month. AND, you know how long it takes for me with all the STUFF I put up.
