Default In need of a little stepmom help

I am planning on focusing my scrapping on getting pages of my oldest stepson scrapped for his 18th birthday-5 months and counting. Any page I have done in the past (and get done between now and then), I am planning on binding into a book. I have been cleaning out my husband's closet. I found some old photos that include DS mom. She is a part of our life. DS spends every other week with her. I am debating scrapping them....Not really journalling (unless DH comes up with something he wants to add)

Is that too much?
Or would you scrap it for DS?

I would scrap her. The point of the album is HIS life. Since she and you are both part of HIS life, you both should be included.

I'm a stepmom, too, and I would totally scrap her. This is a gift for him, and she is a major part of his life.

I have 2 Bonus sons too(18 and 19). I would definitely scrap their mom into his book. The book should be a touchstone for him to come back to time and again, so I would try to make is as 'non-partisan' as possible!

I have to agree with PPs...I'm a stepmom to 3 adult girls, and if I ever scrapped a book for THEM, I'd include their mom and stepdad.

That being said, I'll probably never scrap for them, since the one time I actually made one of them a book (after she had oohed and ahhed), they opened it, looked, and said 'that's nice', and tossed it down.

I posted on DST, but yes, ditto what the others said. It is a book about HIS life, so she should be included if you can do it.

Thanks...it smarted a bit, but I shouldn't have been surprised. The girls will tell us something like 'we took pics, we're sending you some in the mail' (they live maybe 10 minutes away). And shocker, we never get them. And considering the fact that they lived her for nearly 10 years, the excuse that they don't know the address just doesn't fly. I actually had to borrow albums from DH's ex in order to scan pics for the book I made...and saw that the girls have given her like 5 or 6 copies of pics they have taken. In fact, when the oldest saw the book I had made (of HER daughter's pics), she said, 'where'd you get these? I didn't give you any.' So I know it's not an oversight even though she will tell us we can have a copy. It doesn't bother me so much for me but for DH. Whenever we see his granddaughter (who is 5), I try to take pics, and we always give them copies of Rachel's pics, but we might have 3 or 4 portraits of his granddaughter, period (and they are all wallet-sized).

you ladies are quick and good. I posted the same question in at DST. You guys answered the way I was thinking and quick enough that I didnt have to stew about what to do all day.

pewtertm--I know how you feel. I did paper scrapping for my in-laws. They didn't really seem to like what I was trying to do for them and their grandkids.
Now, I scrap digitally, send them pages, and they don't say anything. But I am scrapping for the kids. My husband wont come out and say anything but he does everything he can to make scrapping easier for me-new laptop, new printer-he researched the best for printing photos, good program to work with. I am sure your SDs have showed the books off to friends and I would expect them to show them off to their own kids at some point. There are times that we need to show others that we are cared for.

So, I will scrap the photos, maybe a page of her and a page of DH, any photos of them together--If there are any. Not too many to be over the top and none that look too romantic. And I have to do ones that show her in a good light, right? Golden Rule time

Thanks for all support! You ladies are the best! I am glad to be a part of this community!!
