Default Where to get pages printed?

Hey all! I've accumulated a bunch of layouts that I need to get off my hard drive, so I need to get them printed. Anyone have any reccomendations? I've heard of sbtshare.com, but thats it. Also, any opinions on matte vs. glossy paper? Also, I have one final question...
All of my layouts are done in 300 dpi but its possible that a few photos or elements, etc may be 200 or whatever. Is that OK? I've been doing digital scrapping for several months now, but am still learning the ropes.

Thanks!!
Jenny

Both sbtoshare.com and scrapbookpictures.com are good choices. I've used both. I get matte finish for my prints. SBtoshare also had cardstock paper which is really nice. I get the cardstock and have them print it on the matte side.

I believe when you place items on a 300dpi document it automatically changes it to 300dpi. Someone correct me if I am wrong. I think it should be fine. Just make sure your final JPG is 300dpi when sending them to be printed.

you know I'm a TOTAL convert to Shutterfly photobooks now. They're gorgeous and soo convenent because you dont need albums with the hardbound books which is wonderful!

If I was going to do prints though, COSTCO rocks!!! So if you have a membership to their warehouse, consider using their photo services. Drop a 12x12 onto a 12x18 canvas and print. For 8x8's drop a layout onto an 8x10 canvas. Just trim off the excess at the bottom and you're good to go. Great prices too!

Robin....did you ever have trouble with stuff being cut off the edges when you printed through Costco? Not sure if you have a lot of stuff near the edges on your layouts, but I had this problem with my 8x8's.......I had 1 12x12 printed out to get framed and it was okay.......just wondering

I like matte finish so I print matte

I've used Costco. I open up a 12x18 canvas and plop 2 8x8 LOs and several pixs around them. I believe it's $2.99 for an 12x18 enlargement.

I think in April there was a promotional offer at one of the printing site...scrapbook something or other, I know I'm so helpful lol. The sale price was $0.99 for an 8x8. Even though I had never printed there before...I printed 300+ LOs haha. I LOVED them! Besides the price, I loved that I didn't have to cut them. So all those LOs were already put into albums. Lots of the ones I have printed at Costco are still sitting in the large envelope waiting for me to cut them lol.

I've also printed Shutterfly album, but only for gifts (it was an ABC album) because I don't necessarily scrap chronologically. I actually prefer that online printing service I used over Shutterfly. I'm lucky I also had already stocked up on tons of albums and extra pages when there was a sale somewhere probably around the end of last year.

I do all my printing at scrapbookpictures (that's the one Karen was referring to for the 99 cent sale, I believe). Super fast shipping, great service, excellent quality... I'm a huge fan!

I'd LOVE to do one of the photobooks, but like Karen, I don't scrap in order. So, it would have to be for a special project or a gift album of some kind. I'm dying to do one though!

I too don't scrap in order, so i just print my lo's at home (8x8) on my Epson. It is a 12x12" printer, but the 12" paper is too expensive, and i like the convienent size of 8x8.

I also just did a lot of printing through www.scrapbookpictures.com (matte, 8x8 size) and was SO delighted with it! Any printer that does full bleed pictures (all the way to the edge) will have a 2-3% margin of cut-off of the edges. I put a lot of stuff near the edges, so I resized my layouts to 97.5% and had a tiny 2.5% border. And I am thrilled with it! They are printed on Kodak paper too! The quality was much better than the Costco prints I had done at my local Costco... so I'm a convert now!

Another vote for scrapbookpictures.com -- the prints are GORGEOUS! I selected matte over glossy. It's not flat though. The colors are beautiful, and so much better than what I'd been getting from Costco.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they ship to Canada or anywhere. I think their $2 international shipping may have been a special deal though. Not sure. I know they ship anywhere in the US for $2.
