Default Picasa help?

I need help with Picasa, and I'm very unfamiliar with it, as in, I've never used it.

I have a customer who can seem to only get her low resolution images from Picasa, like the thumbnail size. She said she downloads from her camera straight into Picasa.

Is there some way she needs to get the high resolution images, so she can get them to me? Does Picasa automatically compress them?

If anyone can help, I'd really appreciate it!

Is she accidentally shooting thumbnail size photos? My friend did that...got back from a wonderful vacation, and all her photos were shot in web sized like to use on Myspace. She was SO upset!!!

Ok I don't really use Picasa, but I do...if that makes sense That is where all my pictures are stored for my blog with blogger. Now when I upload to it, it's always through blogger and the pictures are all already resized to web size (usually 600x480). So I just testedit by uploading directly at Picasa with an unedited photo (sized 3456×2304 pixels & 1.07MB). Picasa kept it that size!!

So I would suggest you have her check her camera settings....it might be as Debra stated and she is shooting on to low of a setting!!!

Hope I helped just a little Jamie!!!!

I appreciate your help. I just wanted to make sure that there wasn't some way to pull the high res files, or if there had been some way for her to send me thumbnails, kwim? I knew nothing about Picasa, and wondered if they were compressing them. My concern is that her files are just that size, but she did say she had them printed without issue. I asked her about it, so I'm waiting to hear back.

I'll probe deeper since it doesn't seem to be a Picasa problem. Thanks so much!

I'm wondering if in their settings they have something like photobucket has. You can change the settings that no matter what size photo you upload it will always be compressed to a certain size!?!

Like right at the bottom up the white upload box on photobucket it says "reduce to:" and then it gives you like 7 choices from 100x75 clear up to 1MB size.

I download from my camera into Picasa & I have no problem getting the high res photos from it. There is no place to specify the type of import in it. Or if there is it isn't easy to find. I've looked. Picasa imports the resolution & format you photographed in. So the problem may be her camera settings
