Default Anyone already thinking about Christmas?

I bought the kids a couple things this week. I know its 4 months away and I even have money put aside this year so I don't have to shop early, but I can't seem to help it.
This what I got them.

Christmas 2009

I'm so glad I went ahead and got Keira those dolls, they're going for $42 at Amazon.

I usually start in October, so I haven't thought about it at all. Starting last year, we only get Luke three fairly major gifts and his stocking. It worked otu well for us. I have no clue what to get him, though.

How funny you post this tonight! I bought one of our 15yo son's his main Christmas present this afternoon!

His broke somehow...had problem with the hinge that just got worse and worse and finally broke. Target had the DS Lite on sale for $99 this week...so I went in and got him the silver one. Cool thing is I had a coupon for Target that expired today...$5 off a $75 or more purchase...made it $94 ... and I get prescriptions filled at Target every time they offer a $10 GC with a new or transferred prescription and I've been saving them up....it cost me $0 for the DS! yay!

I have about $50 left in GC for Target...hoping they will keep offering that $10 GC with prescriptions so hopefully before Christmas I can get the 14yo an Ipod and get it free! Would definitely help the old Christmas budget if I can get 2 of the 3 kids' presents for free or close to!!

The one that turns 21 the week before Christmas will be a bit harder...I think he is wanting software and the college he goes to offers a fantastic deal on the software he will be learning but it is still major money...so guess we can combine his 21st birthday present and Christmas together to get it.

Does anyone hear jingle bells?

I haven't actually bought anything yet, but I did start adding some things to our Christmas Kaboodle for the kids so I have some ideas for them when I do actually start my shopping.

not even thinking about christmas this year yet. My kids birthdays are right before christmas (November 9th for my son who turns 16 and November 16th my daughter turns 18) so its always tough to have enough money for that time of year!!

LOL!

I can't wait for that either.

This will be Keira's first time trick or threating outside of Alaska. It might be above zero. I can't wait.

This will be our first Halloween without trick or treating...it will be sad for me I am sure. Granted my boys are teens...but they did it at the shopping mall with the grocery store and other stores (so some give-a-ways were directed towards teens)...and then they would sometimes TOT in their grandma's neighborhood because all the neighbors wanted to see dh's kids (basically no one moves out of that neighborhood...everyone knows everyone...and the kids' of the parents in each house bring their kids back to TOT each year).

This year, however, we will be in Ft. Smith Arkansas for a Robotics competition for that day and I think the 2 days prior. It will be a lot of fun... will just seem strange for the first time in 20 years that we won't be involved in trick or treating in any way. I did tell the boys if they wanted to make a Cyborg costume (the mascot)...that I need to know NOW so their Grammy and I can get started on it...and they could wear it to competition. lol

I'm putting aside money from my Etsy shop for Christmas. Mostly, anyway. We don't go crazy crazy buying things for the kids, but we like to get them one bigger thing and a few smaller ones. I'm not sure what to get, because my kids don't really play with toys, just each other making forts and playing 'superheros' and stuff like that. But I love Christmas, and have already started thinking about crafts to make...

Oh, yes! I have already bought a couple of presents with sales at Artscow. I have also decided that Nicholas will be getting a kid sized drum set for his main gift. He's gonna be so excited. For stocking stuffers, he will probably get a batman cape, those finger puppets Lindy makes, some books and some Thomas trains. My dh is getting a camera. I think my sister will get a iPod shuffle. We are well on our way to Christmas in my world.

I AM!!! But mostly only for myself so I know how hard core I'll have to save in order to get my Canon. I have NO IDEA what to get hubby and he never really says anything he wants (other than a motorcycle... yeah right). DD won't need much because she's not to the point yet where she wants anything. So, just a few small, inexpensive toys for her.

My Nicholas got a similar one, he plays with it every single day. Its always the first thing he wants to play with whenever he wakes up or comes home even almost 8 months later. For sure worth the money.

I so hear you Nettie!! LOL! I really want to do December Daily this year for our first married christmas I'm using most of the stuff that I bought for last year's album, LOL!

I never know what to do for Christmas. And Jordan's Dad really wants to go to FL for it this year, so who knows what's going to happen.

I am! Even though I'm spending a lonely Christmas, as I will not be going home to my family this year (still paying bills from last Christmas, oh man!), I'll probably package my gifts and ship it off in November so that my family will get it in time for Christmas.

I've bought a few things, and have several more ideas. I took my girls to American Girl this weekend, but resisted buying anything, with the idea that Santa might surprise my 5yo (almost 6 by Christmas) with an American Girl doll on Christmas morning. We'll see though. I'm still debating on that.

I'm still getting ready for school to start so one thing at a time. LOL!

But I don't think this Christmas is going to be big compared to last year. They got an xbox. And throughout the year we have picked up some high dollar things for everyone. So I think toys and games will be it this year.

Are those barbies a different size or something? Mine is a major barbie fan, but those seem particularly expensive for what seems to be a regular doll. Can you fill me in? Thanks!

I usually begin once the kids get in school, and I can hide things easily.

Benjamin will be getting a Nintendo DSi
Amelia we're not sure about yet
Rae is getting an electronic piano, one of those nice ones she can take lessons on, if they aren't too expensive.

That's the plan for now.

This is so funny, ever since all the Christmas in July stuff. I have been looking for teacher's gifts, family gifts, and anything else I can think of. I have been trying to buy a few things here and there, to try and ease the pain of Christmas.

They're Skipper, Stacie & Kelly, Barbie's little sisters.

I had a Skipper doll when I was a kid, pretty sure they stopped making them for awhile. I never had a Stacie & Kelly. Skipper is suppose to be a teen I think. Stacie is like a Tween and Kelly is a toddler I think.

Every year I say that I want to start a "Christmas Club" fund, but I never seem to do it.... But this year I am bound and determined to shop early and have it all done early....I have already bought my dear Grandson some clothes from Old Navy and even some stocking stuffers for him and my dear Granddaughter....So not a huge head start on shopping for most people, but it is for me....LOL

Well I wasn't thinking about it until I saw that Target had the 64 box of crayolas for less than $2 today. Ok, not a major gift but I couldn't pass that one up -- got for all that fit into the crayon age.

I actually just took a hybrid class at my LSS and we made this advent calendar using Zoe's papers from MME.

I posted it in the hybrid gallery.

Thanks! The box is a Karen Foster Countdown Calendar. I am sure you can find it online or at your LSS. I am going to make a Countdown to Halloween one next!
