Default Why do I never bring the camera..

Today we went to a flea market to stock up on books, and on the way home we drove past the local firestation, and it turned out they had an open day. The kids got to sit in a police car, ambulance and firetruck, and they loved playing with the siren (sp?) and the blue lights. And where was my camera? At home the whole time. So annoying, and this always happens to me. I had my phone with me so I took some pics with that, but it's not exactly high tech so they are not great.

Anyone else do this? I think I need to dig out my old P&S and just keep it in my bag permanently..

My kids hate it that I lug mine around everywhere, too. There was a time, though, when we went hiking to a really great place with fantastic photo ops, and I had forgotten to recharge my batteries, and I had no backups in the bag. I literally got weird and didn't want to hike if I couldn't take pics. That's when I knew I had to calm down and just enjoy and stop taking so many pics LOL

(thankfully...the batteries saved up enough juice after the first few pics I took to be able to take non-flash shots outside - phew! LOL) Guess I didn't really learn anything after all.

I was tired of doing that too so I finally bought a P&S to keep in my purse for just in case moments like that. Also my phone takes pretty good pics too.

thats why i wish i had kept my sony point and shoot when i got my canon rebel. i sold it, thinking i'd never use it again. i love my canon but sometimes it would be nice to have a smaller one for quick shots that i can fit in my purse. i can't take that canon everywhere, lol.

I carry a really large purse and I have my Canon S5IS with me all the time. It is alot larger then a regular p&s but if I am faced with a situation where I really want to take some pictures I can.

Oh that stinks Kristine! I try to take my XTi with me most everywhere but there are times I just don't wanna lug it along so I ended up getting a small inexpensive Kodak P&S to keep in my purse so I always have something with me just in case!
