Default what we came home to

I went with my husband to his MRI today and when we get home we see the county (roads and drainage) had been out to clean/mow the ditch. Well as per their usual when they come on the property they left huge ruts all over our yard. We are in the process of fencing our yard so they went around the fence in the back yard so they left ruts there too. Almost ran into a tree in the yard as the ruts go up to about 5 inches from the tree and according to my son almost rolled the tractor (not really a tractor but I dont know what it is called LOL). I took pictures of what they did to take down to the sub-station by our house but nobody was there. We came home again and the guy who left the ruts is out there trying to cover it all up with leaves and grass LOL. Then there was another guy out here who is a subcontracter who came up to tell us who it was and what happened while we were gone and he said the guy who did all the damage stopped working in our yard and sat and ate his lunch. They have done this a few times in the past and my husband made an agreement to maintain the drainage ditch that runs the length of our property and he has been doing that they didnt really need to do anything on our property and the worst part is they have an entrance to do the rest of the ditch on the next road so they really didnt even need to come through here. Oh gosh I hate easements for the county. They have absolutely no respect for anyone's property at all when they have to come through or do any work.

Well that sucks! Sounds just like the idiots from the plumbing company that fixed our water line from the house to the main a few years back...they did all the work except the backfill (which wouldn't haven taken very long) then went for a nice long lunch and by the time they came back it was pouring rain so they had to do the backfill in the rain and their darn Bobcat tore our yard up way worse than if they had just finished up before leaving!! It's very frustrating when people have no respect at all for other people's property

ughh that would make me mad to Shawna. I would have told them A. they fix the damage they caused or B. they deduct for the damage from the final bill how much it would cost to repair it.

Oh last time the county came on the property they actually had to dig the ditch out. The stuff they dug out they left on our property. Big huge mucky, smelly, mosquito infested piles. That along with the ruts and I was MADDD!!! They came out and because they dug up one of the stakes to mark the property line re-surveyed the property, graded the yard to get rid of the ruts and then put some grass seed down once they were done. That was when they made that agreement with my husband. But the thing is if they were a little more respectful they would not need to do that.
