Default pregnancy and food cravings?

Im was wondering when you were pregnant what your food cravings were and if you still liked the particular food after you had your baby? Ive had three kids so my cravings were different with all three. With my oldest I craved slim jims and chili-cheese hotdogs. With my second child it was pickles and cheddar cheese. Then with my youngest it was pepperoni pizza. Not super healthy I guess LOL. I found that after having my kids I did not really want those things very often and some stuff like the slim jims and cheddar cheese I get kinda nauseous eating it now.

Umm, I craved Taco Bell with my oldest because it was the only thing I never threw up while pregnant. I also craved frozen fruit. I still eat both of those and I love eating frozen fruit!

With my first one I craved DQ slushes because I had morning sickness pretty bad in the beginning, and it seemed to help. Later on I craved vegetables. With my second pregnancy, I had a major aversion to mexican food, and it still doesn't do much for me. I liked it before though. I don't know, something just grosses me out about it now.

Well, I craved apples during the earliest part of both pregnancies. I really, really am not a fan of apples. I'll only eat Jazz apples, and they're only available a few months of the year.

With JP, I craved hot dogs, barbecue chicken and macaroni and cheese. I hate hot dogs for lunch every day, and the chicken with mac and cheese for dinner nearly every night. I still love all three items, I just don't eat them as often as I did then.

With Devin, I craved biscuits and gravy. We ate at Cracker Barrel a LOT during that pregnancy, lol! I still eat them, but again, not the way I did then.

1st- Mexican Food (especially chips & salsa from 1 particular resturant) yummmy!
2nd- Pizza, Garlic Veggie Supreme, All Meat, Hawaiian, didn't matter
3rd- not anything specific throughout, depends on the day, just food in general, probably chocolate more now than ever in my life.

I still can eat all the things I craved/crave.

The one thing I can't eat however, that made me nauseous with my 1st pregnancy, is Subway, even the smell makes my stomach roll...

I had a really weird craving with one of my kids. Cant remember which one now. I craved Pine-sol. Not to drink but the smell of it. I loved how it smelled and would mop my floors all the time just so I could smell it LOL

With my DD my big cravings were tomatoes and cucumbers early on (only thing I could keep down) and then later on KFC slaw and mashed potatoes. I still love all of these things and eat tomatoes and cucumbers often I just have no excuse to send my DH to KFC on whim so I don't eat that nearly as much as when I was pregnant (lol probably not a bad thing....I can't imagine either are particularly healthy).

And yes - I still love them

1st I craved tarter sauce, I think it was the pickles in it. Also, Bean and cheese burritos from anywhere.

2nd I craved potato chips, hot dogs (ikea's were my favorite), and Dr. Pepper.

I will still eat a bean cheese burrito anytime, and it wasn't something I ate before I had kids. I still like hot dogs, but I don't need the potato chips or Dr. Pepper.

1st I craved anything spicy. I now love spicy food. Use to not care for any of it.
2nd I loved fruit and chocolate. I still love fruit and chocolate.

Now with the first I couldn't stand taco bell, but after both pregnancies I'm back to eating it. And with the second grilled cheeses would make me throw up, and I still don't eat them now.

1st - taco bell bean burritos - 2 every.single.day. I still eat them (a lot) and DS loves them - without the sauce and onions of course. Oh and my MIL's homemade pickles. I went through about 20 jars. And those italian ice pops that I cannot find anywhere now.

2nd - Ice Cream and ritz crackers.

Sonic ice..all of my pregnancies!

With Teaghan I craved Subs...EVERYDAY...I still love them haha but maybe 1-2xs a month now instead of daily.

I had more smell cravings/aversions than I did food..I had to keep snuggle dryer sheets in my purse or pocket at all times...so Jessica I totally understand the Pine-Sol craving lol

With my first I wanted KFC chicken all the time. And donuts with custard - it's a wonder I didn't end up the size of a house. And with my second it was boiled eggs, I once had 5 in a row, and I've never been that sick in my life I still like all of those things - although I usually stop at one egg these days..

I did have some cravings when I was pregnant with my 4 kids. I still like these things today, but obviously not as much. The weird thing that I noticed is that the things I craved are the things each of my kids really like now. Like I ate a lot of Mexican food with my second and even as a one year old, he would eat salsa and chips. He likes beans and spicy stuff, always has. I craved bacon and bread stuff with my first, and he loves both. I craved salad and vegetables with my 3rd (not normal for me LOL), and she is my best vegetable/fruit eater of the bunch. Anyone else see this with their kids?

With my oldest, it was Mexican food and yes, I still love Mexican. With DS, about all I could eat for the first several months was orange juice and BBQ fritos. And no I do not eat that combo now.

OMGosh I craved ice too. (still do actually). The hospital had ice similar to Sonic's ice. Basically crushed ice/ice chips. Whenever I went there I would get a huge cup and eat it all day LOL.

I actually had my strongest smell aversion to Pinesol! The smell made me wanna puke. I had to buy lavender scented floor cleaners. lol

My cravings changed every month, I would crave it for a month and then move on. Some of them were apple turnovers, grape soda, corn on the cob made on the grill and gas station nachos with jalapenos. I still like all of it.

With Benjamin I ate a ton of tomatoes! It was nothing for me to go to the store and buy 4-5 tomatoes and eat them in a day. I also ate a lot of oranges. I could NOT eat chicken, and ever since haven't really enjoyed chicken. I mean, I can eat it, but if I never ate it again, I wouldn't miss it. With Amelia I craved cereal (not the healthy kind, the kind with the marshmallows in it). I used to eat tons of it, bowls and bowls of it. It was during her pregnancy that I got sick on fruit salad one day, and to this day, I can still barely eat any fruit without gagging. That is the worst aversion I got while pregnant, I hate that I can't eat fruit any more!

When I was prego with Rae, I was sick, extraordinarily sick, for 6 months. I could eat nothing without getting sick, except for stuffed jalapeno peppers! I would stuff them with cream cheese, wrap in bacon and eat them. It was so odd because water would give me heartburn, but I could eat that stuff!

ETA with all three I could not cook meat. It would make me gag, no matter what kind it was

With my mom and me, its the opposite. My mom craved everything strawberry, I HATE them. Always tell her she over did it when she was pregnant.

I notice in my daughter that all i could eat during my pregnancy was fruits and veggies (mainly greenbeans and corn)---and she eats them like they're going out of style LOL....she is definately also my veggie and fruit eater...Tho when I was pregnant with her any red meat made me horribly horribly ill...didn't matter what stage of pregnancy...it was horrible.

I craved kosher dill pickles (we'd buy those ginormous jars like they have at Sams...I could go through one in a week), and beef tamales, which stunk because I couldn't find any here in OKC. Mom brought me some when she visited from Houston, and when we went down there, I bought several packages at the grocery store to bring home with me.

I didn't really have one craving that lasted the entire 9 months, but several mini-cravings that would last for a few weeks. Let's see... broccoli-cheese soup, orange juice, fruit, chocolate milk, turkey sandwiches, Crystal Light lemonade, and caesar salad were some of them.

I would also have a very specific craving at a mealtime and demand Jeff make it come true i.e. chicken on the George Foreman grill with chicken-flavored Stovetop stuffing and broccoli. I would get so mad if I couldn't have whatever it was RIGHT THAT MINUTE. *lol*

Chinese food has been the one constant pregnancy craving that I had with all three of my kids... and I still could eat it all the time! LOL!

I also loved mac n cheese with two of them, soft pretzels with one, and popcorn with another. Come to think of it, I still eat all that stuff... but I'm NOT a picky eater at all!!!

I carved egg salad! I ate SO much egg salad and gained SO much weight! I still love it but don't really allow myself to eat it now.

oh, and my son won't touch eggs. But, he won't really eat anything, so not sure if there's a connection.
