Question Gift idea please...

Something scrappy will be fine but I want to buy her something NSBR as well. We love love LOVE our babysitter...she is so wonderful with our children and I don't think I would feel comfortable working outside the home if she wasn't in our lives. I was thinking maybe a gift card in lieu of a cash bonus, but I still want to come up with a great gift idea. Any ideas, oh wise friends?

For ours, I am giving her a pre-paid credit card and a photo gift basket (albums, frames, etc) with a GC to get family photos done at a local place (she has been talking about getting that done forever, but never has).

Personally, I'd go with a Walmart or Target gift card (so that if she really needs the $$ she can get groceries, etc.) for the main gift. Then maybe a photo gift of some kind.

I LOVE the idea of a little phot basket! Maybe I'll take some pics and get them developed of her daycare kids and pout them in frames....I also like the idea of a gift card!

We gave our babysitter a gift card to Bed Bath & Beyond last year. She was moving into a new apartment at the time. This year I got a gift card to a local independent bookstore. She loves to read.

I have a friend that gave hers a camera, with a little note saying that they felt like she was part of their family and wanted her to be able to capture memories, etc. I thought that was pretty nice

Yes this. Also a good gift if you suspect a family may be struggling but they don't want to ask for help. With a Target card everyone saves face.

These are great ideas! We settled on: Pics of the kids in a multi photo picture frame (she actually asked for this LOL), a gift card to Red Lobster, and a big basket filled with "movie night" stuff (2 family movies [with gift receipt in case she has them already], popcorn, movie candy and drinks. I don't mean to imply that they are wealthy or anything, but I opted out of an all-purpose GC because they are not hurting for money. I know that they love to eat out on Friday nights and I know that Sunday night is family movie night for them; so after a bit of thought the answer was right in front of me LOL Thanks; you girls are the best!
