well, considering between me and DH we have 5 Western Digital EHD's, I'd say we like WD, lol! We have everything from 250 GB to 1 TB size EHD and use them constantly.

I've had 2 seagates and 2 western digitals...all have been good. One seagate died on me but it was after 2 years of daily use so I feel like it was a good lifespan for an EHD

I have two Seagates - one 500 gig and one 2 TB and they are both fantastic! My 500 gigger is five years old and I've never had a problem with it at all.

I've known so many people who have had problems with Seagate so I will never buy that brand again. Mine started clicking and locking up so I quickly got my stuff off and trashed it. I've had my Western Digital for years 8+ with no problems. I got two 1T HP EHDs at Costco for Christmas and had no problems with them.

I love my WD and haven't had any problems with it, but I also don't use it that often. I back up "once a month". Used in quotations because most months I forget LOL. I just backed up this week though
