Default Chick Lit Recommendations

I am wanting to get back in to reading again but have only ever read teen chick lit style books so I am wanting some recommendations of books/authors I could look for at the library

Have you checked out the book club? Some great suggestions for books so far! Also a lot of us are on Goodreads and have a ton of books on our lists there.

for Chick Lit--I like Jennifer Weiner and Emily Giffin. For more women's fiction type stuff check out Kristin Hannah.

I've read that - I am wanting to get out of the teen reads and more into the adult reading world since I am turning 24 this year

hehehe I'm just now reading the Traveling Pants series, and I'm 33.

I love Sophie Kinsella's books. The Shopaholic series is a riot.

Obviously I don't know what you've already read, haha, but these are some of my faves. I only do lighthearted fun books.

Sophie Kinsella's Shopholic series are my favorite books ever. I've read the series more times than I can count.

I also really loved her Twenties Girl book.

Meg Cabot has some great books too. I especially like the Heather Wells Mysteries. The Queen of Babble series is fun too.

I Do but I Don't and I Did but I Wouldn't Now by Cara Lockwood are fun too.

I just finished reading Seattle Girl and Sparks Fly by Lucy Kevin. There's a 3rd one called Falling Fast which I haven't read yet but Amazon had a Kindle 3-pack of all 3 books for $3.99. I liked both books I've read so far.

HTH!

I would recommend anything by Kristin Hannah or Nicholas Sparks.

If you are looking for a series to dive into....

I enjoyed Harry Potter and Twilight. If you want a lighter read, I would suggest the Cedar Cove series by Debbie Macomber.

I hope that helps! Also, I am with KCB......I am 34 and still love teen lit.

lol As someone who is 24... I don't read much teen lit stuff... I tend to want to slap/shake/punch them for being idiots half the time.

Nora Roberts has good series (tons of them) and instead of one person being the focus of all the books in the series there are generally several focuses, with the books switching who's point of view it's from. And all deal with lots of friendship and relationship stuff. AND have some sort of mystery and/or horror-esque theme... it's not all gooey romance.

I am a chick lit reader myself and I have found a nice in between to be romantic suspense series. I loved this series. http://www.catherinecoulter.com/book...ense-thrillers

The Suzanne Brockman books are pretty good too. Most of them have a navy seals hero/love interest.

most likely anything you suggest I haven't read because up until recently I didn't have a library card - our city went from several different councils to one council so instead of only having 1 useless library I now have 55 libraries I can choose from, 2 of which I can either walk to or am right next to 3 days a week.

I don't limit myself either, I read teen stuff, mystery, romance, etc. A good book that I read was called Choices by Katrina Burchett, VERY good! I also like Emily Giffen, Kate Jacobs (Has a wonderful knitting series), the James Patterson Women's murder club series, and of course Jodi Piccoult. I dont' know if you like Christian authors but I love Karen Kingsbury as well!
