Default MAC question! bringing over the fonts? and PS styles/actions

yay! I have a Mac question--- so excited to type that, since as you've figured out, I'm on a Mac now (insert happy dance)--- anyway, I don't want to mess up my new Mac when I bring over my fonts and Photoshop styles/actions.

questions on the fonts--
1. where do they go on the Mac?
2. are there fonts I can't/shouldn't bring over from my PC? (PC system fonts?)

questions on the photoshop styles/actions
1. where do they go on the Mac?

and anything else I'm not thinking of that I should be asking? LOL

so excited to move away from my veeerrryyy old and defunct pc

I just keep my actions and stuff in a folder called Actions and add them as I want to use them that way my actions aren't all that bogged down. I really only use a few main ones over and over

I um..did the same thing for my fonts haha and install as I want them. Some of them I had to change on a psd here or there like I use Cooper Black for my alphabet collection and when I opened the PSD in cs5 on my mac I had to edit it to Cooper standard or something..little things like that but so far all my fonts that I've tried have worked.

I do the same thing as Meg, I have an actions folder in my Documents and just drag em into PS as I use them.

Congrats on your Mac! Once you go Mac, you never go back! I keep all my actions in the Actions folder in Photoshop presets. This way they're accessible from my actions palette dropdown. When I'm not using the action I just drag it to the palette trash to keep the palette from getting bogged down. It still says in the dropdown menu. I install fonts in Font Book. Macs can use any True Type or Open Type font. Font Book makes it really easy to manage your fonts and enable/disable them.

Have fun!

when installing fonts into fontbook, it should "validate" the fonts. if the font has an error, it will put a yellow flag thing next to the font name. those fonts may cause issues.

that's the only problem i had with moving fonts over. my ps actions and things, like everyone says, are in a folder. i use them as i need them. (:

congrats on the mac! like traci said- once you go mac, you never go back!
