Default My little boy is growing up...

He (Derrick) finally learned how to ride his bike last night. (He just turned 6.) I am so happy for him and his new found freedom. I'm just sad because it's another step away from momma.

They grow up so fast...and I know while we're excited to see them learn these skills...too many of them and then they're done and moved out! Why can't they stay little?!

I hear you! Such a bittersweet moment! I was actually upset when my husband taught my son.

i wish my 8yo daughter would learn We took her training wheels off last year, but she was so afraid, my husband put them back on. She looks kinda silly riding a bike with training wheels - maybe this summer???

I'm sure Derrick is so excited!!

Derrick didn't want to learn either up until the last 2 weeks or so. DH has been working with him (a surprise to me) and when I got home last night he was so happy to surprise me with it!!!

I think they each have to learn on their own. We have been trying to get him to learn for about 2 years now...
