Default .TIFF vs .PSD files

So I want to clean up some space on my computer and I want to change all my flattened .PSD layouts to .TIFF files. But before I do that, I want to clarify something...

Will the .TIFF files be the same quality as the .PSD files when it comes time for me to upload and print them from winkflash, shutterfly, etc. Is there any reason I need to keep the .PSD files other than as back-up?

Thanks!
