I love all the build up, but I am a little sad when it's over

There's usually a little let-down once the tree comes down...I miss the festiveness of the season. But then daily life gets hectic and I get over it.

I def get the post Christmas blues. No doubt about it. I love the build up and the excitement on the day, however on the 26th I usually feel lost because I don't have anything to look forward to.

I love NYE and NY so no post blues really..I just can't get into the season this year...it's been a little blah. My tree isn't even up yet. Was hoping to get one today but it's pouring so that's gonna wait.

I super struggle this time of year. I haven't been excited about december/Christmas season for as long as I can remember. The goal is always to 1) survive lol and 2) try to go in with a positive mind frame and try to make it better than the last year. There's just a lot of bad history floating on December in our lives.

No. Christmas is near the start of our 6 week summer school holidays. So after Christmas we still have a whole month of fun stuff to do. I don't always have that amount of time off work but last year and this year I do... so I'm super excited!

No. I enjoy the season, then move forward into the new year. It helps that we go camping on the 1st or 2nd of Jan, so we're busy looking forward to that, and then enjoying our time away.

I'm not always excited about having to be cheerful with the family. I'm a loner, so sometimes I really don't feel like that :P

January is awful for me. I live in a really cold, harsh climate and January is the worst month of the whole year weather wise, combine that with the fun of Christmas being over and it's always a bit rough for me. Last year we went on a dream vacation in January, so this year will suck as I think of how great that trip was, too.

I'm usually fine after. The few weeks before have been a bit rough the last few years, and I'm not exactly sure why. I think it's that I don't like decorating or all of the stuff that normal people do before Christmas. It makes me tired to think about it. If it were just me and the hubs, I'd skip a lot of it, but since I'm trying to make things a little more "fun" for the kids, I do as much as I can stand to do, which still isn't that much. I just don't like the hubbub. I do love Christmas music, and I do all my shopping online, so those are happy things.

I struggle. I love the season but with no family near and no kids, it's a hard time of year.

One thing I have done is to collect some snowmen/snowflake decorations that I bring out in January. It is a way for me to combat the sadness of packing away the Christmas decorations.

This is an awesome idea! I've never thought about doing that! I do struggle once Christmas is over.. I don't mind Winter but it does go on and on where I live (usually officially gone sometime in may lol) I love the idea of doing a bit of winter decorating!

I enjoy the holidays very much. I don't enjoy putting up decorations or having to take them down... Those parts stress me out and can make me feel frustrated and mopey but the parts in the middle and after I clean up the decorations are good. December, January and February are some of the most enjoyable months weather-wise in FL, so I feel happy about that.

When I worked in retail is was awful. I worked so hard up until Christmas day and then I just collapsed. The holidays we really now fun and I was glad they were over. Now that I'm not doing that and it's just enjoying activities and family with my kid it's great.
I also like New Years in the sense that I want to clean everything out (like closets), throw stuff away and essentially organize. Somehow that's just perfect after Christmas.

I don't know how to explain this, but for me the "Christmas Season" isn't a big buildup or let down because I don't put a huge emphasis on it being much different than any other time of the year (but then for me it isn't a religious thing either). We decorate a bit - some special things that were passed down to me or that we've made over the years and of course we do a tree (but only for about 2 weeks at the most). We don't socialize any more during the holidays than we do during the rest of the year (we're quite social all year long)... I guess my point is that holidays aren't the only times to celebrate life and being with your loved ones; life is shorter than we realize and we should celebrate every. single. day. because you never know when things are going to change.

I'm not sure - I really, really dislike winter... so with Christmas, it distracts me from it... then comes January, February, March, April... and I'm just over it! I'm pretty sure that is why God send me Jake in March (he was due mid April)... gives me something to focus on (his party) to get me through the rest of winter... haha

Very much so... mostly before.
Since husband and I don't do gifts, Christmas is about the traditions for me..... if one thing messes up I can go off the deep end. As soon as Christmas is over I begin the removal process... I am so ready for it to be done and gone until next year/

Post. Once new years is gone and we're faced with over a month until the next holiday after all the hoopla and excitement of the last 3months, I get a bit depressed

I suffer from SAD, so it depends on the weather surrounding Christmas. I have had a few 'blue' years though. 2001 was the worst.

I struggle with probably the first 20 days of December cause I'm usually over the crowds, dont know what to get my hard to buy for family......I like christmas day and boxing day though as well as new years. I think some of it comes down to being an adult family so going to events just isnt our thing.
