Thumbs down Really?!.........

so NOT to start the day on a "poor me" note, but.....

remember how last week i had some sort of allergic reaction and broke out in hives? yeah, so they threw me on steroids for the week and saturday was my last dose.... and now.....

they're back!

really?!

so i call the dr. and of course she's OUT this week, so i'm waiting for them to call me w/ the referring dr.'s #......

you know what's weird is that i've NEVER had hives before this recent bout... i never even had allergies! this aging thing is CLEARLY not agreeing w/ me!

tee hee

Lauren - are you taking any kind of new medication? This is what happened to me when I found out I was allergic to sulfa drugs, and it took about six weeks to get the drugs completely out of my system before I quit breaking out.

Darcy - no, no new meds (my MIL is also allergic to sulfa meds!)

La - no, cuz i was just at urgent care last time, so they just did the steroid shot and gave me a script. so hopefully today someone will do SOMETHIN to figure it out!

eta: Libby, YES, sexy they are NOT fo sho! (although dh finds me sexy even when i'm covered in them! )

eta (again): dh thinks it's Cooper our kitten, but how can i be allergic to HIM and not our other cat Lucy we've had for a year?

it's possible.. some cats give me more issues than others, and dogs too obviously.. different breeds are worse than others. So maybe.. Sucks if it's kitty though :[ but.. I'd lean to it being something more since like regular antihistamines weren't workin for you.

I got the "flu" one winter really bad when I was about 19 or so....never could seem to get rid of it...was drinking like a quart of OJ every day...finally my sis dragged me in to her allergist...I had NEVER had allergies before...suddenly I am allergic to:

1) OJ
2) ragweed
3) mold
4) dust
5) certain trees
etc etc etc

....then I start getting allergic to about every kind of meds they give me...sulfa, penicillin, dolobid...and even red dye (yep allergic to Benadryl liquid and pills! until they came out with the dye free)

I had a miserable couple of years of breaking out in hives and discovering I was allergic to about everything under the sun! An allergist is your best bet to narrow down this!
