PSE8 action help

Last week my PC crashed. Now I'm attempting to get everything up and running again. I've reinstalled all my actions into PSE8 and for some reason they are not showing up in PSE. Here are the steps I have taken to install.

Control Panel/Folder View/View and clicked on show hidden files.
then..
Computer/program data/adobe/photoshop8.0/photo creations/effects

I put my thumbnails and .atn files there. I then opened PSE and nothing. I've restarted my computer and PSE and still nothing. Have I done something wrong? Any tips or hints?
