Today is a BAD day...
Today my boyfriend (we live together with my daughter) found out he will be out of work as of November 5th. Since we work together that means I'm at risk as well. We can manage on my salary alone although it will be tough; won't be buying as many digi kits.
 However, if I am laid off also we will be in big trouble!! That's the world of working in the IT field I guess...lots of layoffs every year. Pls send prayers and positive thoughts...I could really use them today.Also, it was a total of 5 of my co-workers let go so it's a somber mood in this place right now. bummer. Thanks everyone!

I was in the same situation a year ago...I was actually out of work for 10 months which in my case wasn't too bad...I worked for Enron when they went bankrupt so it taught me to make sure I have $$$ in the bank just in case...If possible I say start preparing now...Save a few extra dollars if possible...Make sure to visit the doctor, dentist, ect. I will definitely keep you in my thoughts and prayers...

oh no!! I know all too well about jobs in IT... I went through two massive layouts in my IT sector of the company a few years back... you would think that there is no more they can cut!
Sending prayers/PT that your job is safe and your boyfriend can find another position quickly!

So sorry. That is awful. I hate the 'black' days where they lay people off. Glad they are giving a little notice though. I hope your job remains safe.

my dh is IT too and was laid off last year. I feel your pain. God did provide and he now has a better job and he loves it.
