either one. you can cut the vinyl down to fit your cricut mat if you need to.

I don't know if this is helpful but I used contact paper in my cricuit to make my wall quotes. I chose a black "leather" (LOL) design. Very inexpensive. I think I may have bought it at the Home Depot. It went up like a dream. Stayed up for about a year on apartment walls until I took it down.

I bought mine at http://www.hhsignsupply.com. They did have end of the roll cuts for like 50 cents and I had my order within a day or two.

We've used contact paper before but we normally buy our vinyl from sign shops here in town. We do a lot of graphics for soap box derbys so it's better for us to buy the vinyl in large quantities.
I know you can buy the cricuit brand vinyl mainly anywhere the cricut is sold. I think it's expensive because you don't get that much vinyl for the money.

Yes, after I cut it out I just peeled off the backing and stuck it to the wall. I was amazed at how well it worked. Then when I moved I just peeled it off and tossed it out.
