Unhappy Need some serious cheering up....

Ok....so after alot of number crunching last night and today, and well, the last 8 months....we have come to the realization that we can't afford what we have...we have steadily been going more and more into the negative and now our negative taps have run dry. We made the decision last night to sell our house to clear up the debt we have gotten ourselves in.....but where to now???? We just (8 months ago) made a 600km move...and now we are going to have to start over...urggg...I spent all day crying...who knows what the right decision is right????? How do you know things will get better??? My hhusband got a job offer for WAY more money in another province so that would mean the move again! Although the money is better, the cost of living is even higher there than it is here....I am SO depressed. And to top things off my mom isn't being very supportive and my brother (who lives in this town) Is super PISSED.....where is the light at the end of the tunnel?? IS there one????

Thanks for listening.

**huge hugs**

I don't know what to say. You have to just do whats best for you, make sure you weigh the pros and cons of whatever it is you decide to do. Where did your hubby get a job offer, where might you move?

we'd be moving back into Alberta...*sigh* but like I said the cost of living there is so much more....and to top things off, DH called the company tonight to tell them that we didn't think the move would be fesable, financially, and they offered him a $5000.00 moving allowance.... I feel so defeated.....I love our house and hate to sell it, but we also stand to make a HUGE profit on the sale...Realators are coming in the morning...I haven't slept and probably won't again tonight

((hugs)) Shannon ... although we have never owned a place, we have moved numerous times for financial stability. That was one of the main reasons we moved to where we live now ... lower cost of living and better job positions for my hubby.
Where in Alberta???

{{HUGS}}

Things always work out, even if it's not how you think. The big decisions are the hardest, but you'll be ok.

Have you ever heard of Dave Ramsey? He is a financial expert with a ground-breaking plan to become debt free. When my girlfriend told me that she was going to pay off her mortgage in full I thought she was CRAZY. But then I listened to Dave on the radio (he also has a show on CNN) I was intrigued to read his book, The Total Money Makeover.. I was so captivated I stayed up till 2am reading it, lol! It has changed our life. Not exaggerating. In the past few months we have been able to put aside a $1000 emergency fund, pay off my gym membership, 1 credit card and a bill we had to Dell for my dh's laptop. By the end of the summer we will have payed off our Jeep in full. We are NOT rich people, btw.

HERE is his website. I hope you look into it!

Oh, and the book is VERY easy to read. I can assure you that I do not get financial language one little bit, but I understood everything he had to say. He writes in regular everyday lauguage and is quite funny actually.

You can do this girl. You can do anything you put your mind to, I know you can.
DH and I sat down and busted my butt to get rid of my debt. In 6 months we got rid of $15k in debt I had racked up on my credit cards (I'm AWFUL wtih money, obviously, lol). It means no going out to eat, no spending money on anything, etc, but when it's done it feels OH so good!

Check out Dave Ramsey like Val just posted, weigh out your pro's and con's, and realistically look at your budget. There's a way to make it work for you. Good luck!

Bonnieville is only I think an hour and a half from me...that's cool! And I have family that live in Cold Lake, too.

Anyhow, I know it's hard to make a big move like that, especially when it sounds like you just did! But, Alberta is a nice place to live, and depending on WHERE in Saskatchewan you are, you may find it's not as expensive as you think. Gas and food is cheaper here than it is where my parents live (small town SK). Rent is probably higher, unless you live in a city right now, then you'll find it is cheaper probably. Our school system is better (believe me, I went to school in both AB and SK...AB is definitely better).

Alberta is booming right now and there is lots of work...I don't know if you want to work, but it's SO easy for women (even those that have been SAHM's for years) to find work right now if you're willing to work service industry jobs - especially fast food restaurants. They're closing them down and closing early because they don't have the staff to fill them, all because everyone's heading to the big jobs where they can make the "real" money. But, I know at my McD's, if you're older and willing to work, you'll make more than the store's minimum wage (which is higher than the province's minimum wage). These places are literally CRYING for people to come work for them!

Anyhow, just wanted to pipe in that Alberta's not that bad...and I hope that you like Bonnieville...I've only been there a couple times, usually just passing through. (((hugs)))

I'l be thinking of you today as you meet with the realtors..I agree with Shawna too..you are a HERO for making such a sacrifice for your family. The only other piece of advise I would offer is to not let other family' members/friends etc. opinions have any sway in your decision. I know you're not happy that your brother's not happy, but really is it HIS life this decision will drastically change? NOPE. You and your DH need to stand together as one and make the best decisions for you and YOUR family. In the end it'll all be okay, you sound like you have such a good head on your shoulders and I believe you'll come through fine
