Default Do me a favor...

Next time you see your parents, give them a hug and tell them you love them! We never know when it'll be our last.

Oh, and everything is okay with mine. I've had 2 dear friends in the past 1 1/2 weeks lose their parents suddenly. I'm sitting here with my parents now and cannot imagine not having them here.

I totally agree and when my mom lives in VA and I am in WA, this doesn't happen very often...I was sooo glad to see my sister in Vegas I didn't know what to do....it had been 4 years since I had seen her!

ITA -Having just lost my mom last month - I can tell you from first hand experience that they can be gone in an instant! I have to say that my sister is dealing with so much guilt right now because the last time she saw my mom, she was angry at her. So - let your parents know how much you love them!!!!!

Aggrement here too! With being stationed everywhere, I rarely get to hug my mom. And lost my dad 5 years ago. Its something I wouldn't wish on anyone!

totally agree! I lost my mama 12 years ago and it breaks my heart to think of the times she said come give me a hug and I totally snubbed her b/c I was angry or being a brat.

It is so true! And I hug them every time. And I cry every time we have to leave or they leave. And yes I am a married 30 year old with children but I don't care, I love them and I want every moment to last forever because time is so fleeting.

time flies by so fast. My dad died when I was just a little girl. I have no photos of him as an adult and dont really have any memories of him either. What I do remember is very limited and through conversations with other relatives. My mom died about three years ago and while I do miss her we had alot of problems in our relationship. I honestly wish I had had more time to work out those problems or she had cared more to actually want to work them out

I couldn't agree more Debster. We had Tony's parents over for dinner one night, and the next morning after she went home, she had a massive heart attack. She's fine now, but it was such a wake up call. You just never know when the last time you say goodbye to someone, if it might be the last.

Make sure everyone you know, knows you love them.

totally agree... after losing my friend suddenly last year, it made me realize that you just don't ever know... and I wish I lived closer to my parents because saying "I love you" on the phone just isn't the same as in person.

Oh you guys! My mom and dad are my heroes. And, they're getting ready to leave the country for a few years. I just hate the thought of them leaving cause I depend on them so much - just to be there. Luckily, I was at their house yesterday and got to give them hugs and tell them I love them. Thanks for the reminder Deb!

Amen, Zyg! Andrew's mom passed away on the 11th after a three year long battle with Multiple Myeloma, so we're still in the very raw stage of grief.

I agree. There just aren't words to express the grief I felt when my father died. I try to appreciate my mom more now that I know what that kind of loss feels like.
