Default New Laptop Needed

Even the most basic laptops in NZ are around $1000 and my budget isnt much above that. All three of my laptops so far have been Toshiba. I need one asap as I start university on March 7. I need one that will be able to handle Office 2010, Photoshop CS4 Extended, ACDSee Photomanager 2009 and internet browsing. Do you have any suggestions? I really wish I could get one from overseas as they are so much cheaper but the power issue is what is stopping me unless it worked in New Zealand too.

Wow! I can't believe how much they are there. I was wishing at Staples today but I can't really get anything. Just daydreaming. They had a really nice HP with an LED screen. That is nice. But I can't offer any advice. I'm just shocked at how much they are there. Good luck.
