What was your craft before scrapping?

I used to be an avid cross stitcher. I dabbled in paper scrapping for awhile but I was never totally in love with it. I think it was a combination of hating my hand writing, the mess and my total inability to cut a straight line

I decided to start getting rid of my old stash of both on ebay. I figured whenever I got the desire to do either again what I had would be so out of date I'd end up wanting to buy new stash anyway. Its rather bittersweet, though I'm not sure why??

So that made me wonder, what did you do before? Do you still do it, miss it, or totally over it?
